Genesis 2 Anubis rendering weirdness

I just bought the Genesis 2 Anubises tonight. Anubii? DOGGY! ;-)

Something weird happening here; if I have both characters in a scene, I can only have one of them rendering properly, the other is whited out as if the shader has corrupted. Re-applying the Mat only changes which character renders. And it's a bit random — right now I have a G2F with everything except the lips properly rendered, and a G2M with only the lips rendered.

Ideas, anyone? I've never seen a shader failure quite like this before.

I had a similar problem with another character. I tried everything until I read on here in another thread that by running Daz Studio as administrator (which I thought I was but apparently wasn't) it should solve the issue. So I closed everything out, right clicked on the desktop icon for Daz and chose to run as admin and ever since then I haven't had an issue. It had something to do with not allowing one of the plugins to work right which affected the shaders if you weren't running as admin.

Nope, doesn't make any difference. I wonder if it's something to do with the custom skin shader itself — it's just named "Hips" and has some unusual parameters. I think it might be set up to do the tattoos as texture overlays without actually using LIE. Weird.

If its using a SS shaders try selecting one and changing the Skins surfaces Group ID number as it may be causing conflict.

That's just it, I don't know if it's using any sort of SSS. It definitely isn't any kind of custom shader I've seen before. Here's a screenshot of the Surfaces parameters, with Show Hidden on. This is the G2F Anubis, but the G2M surfaces have exactly the same parameters and values as far as I can tell.

Are all the surfaces using this or a similar shader? When you select all of the surfaces is there a setting for any SS type parameters group ID, SS on etc.
Just so we can rule that out.

The one your showing here doesn't appear to be an SS shader so maybe thats not the issue.

Any chance of a pic of the issue?

I've tried all sorts of thing to reproduce this but haven't been able to.
I tried applying every different mat, got nothing. I put a 3rd figure in
with SSS on and still nothing. So I can't say it's the Anubis.
I was getting the same problem as you when appplying different
character mats E.g V6, Girl 6 some of the renders the skin was totally white.
I had this for a while but then it just righted itself.
Sorry I don't have any answer. Just get a refund if it makes you feel better.

P.S this wasn't meat to sound nasty I just want you to be happy with your purchase.
    Cheers

Well, this is what I'm consistently getting whenever I put more than one Anubis into the same scene — the glowy chest doesn't always happen, and reapplying the textures to one or both figures sometimes makes the other one turn white. This was with a straightforward load-pose-render with one of the AoA light presets, although it comes out the same no matter what lights I use.

I don't want to return them, I really like the figures; I'd prefer to figure out what's happening and fix it. I'll put in a support ticket tomorrow.

Whups, spotted a glitch — all the supplied Anubis poses return the figure to the centre of the scene. Not supposed to do that.

And I just thought of something, were these materials made in D|S4.7 or 4.6, and does it make a difference? I haven't updated yet, I'm still on 4.6 because of... would you believe it... the reported glitches with SSS shaders.

Yes the mats were done in DS4.7, but I don't think that would make a difference.
You're not trying to apply the Male Anubis mats to the Female?

No, I'm definitely applying the right mats to the right figure.

Onde thing I am having some fun with in the meantime is adding stone or metal textures to make a couple of nice statues. Add a bit of muscle, dial up the HD vein morphs I have installed on G2F/G2M, and the final render looks very, very nice. I just tried Old Bronze from the Real Metals shader set. Pretty!

Yes a status that would be good I never thought of that !
I'm working on the updates for the poses now.
I had to put my hand up in the vendors forum to find out how to do it.
But it's easy once someone shows you.
