Well... I was mostly happy with that previous look... But I had to try and make it better... Well... I'm not sure if I'm actually trying to make things better or if I'm just making myself giggle at the horror show....
If you thought that one was bad... What do you think of this one...
...yikes its Frederika Kruger In Flight #13 Part 1 - Fly the Fiendish Skies

OD'ing on smile-x gas?
OD'ing on smile-x gas?lol. no that's when things start coming threw the chin. Rather gross I may say.
I think the old Miki 2 is one of the figures with the nicest smile (unfortunately Miki 3 and 4 were terrible downgrades in that respect).

O.K. this is becoming a pandemic of sorts, that effects ALL PAs. What the hell is going on!? At first it was only a hand full of figures, and as of more recently, allot of figures started having this issue. Figures that just can't smile without getting a broken Jaw.
You'll note, that I don't even have the single dial at max, and it is having issues with the Karyanna's 'Shaping' presets.
Is this an issue with some aspect NOT getting saved for the Jaw shape???
It's not Thorne, many PA's figures have this issue.
(edit, case and point, some of the EJ lineup I have. In order from left (top) to right (bottom) in the scene tab.)
That package of 220 expressions for Genesis 1 has a number of nice smiles, but they change acto the face you're trying to put them on. Each face morph seems to take the expressions differently, so you have to work your way through them one by one with different degrees and combinations until you find something you like. A couple of them seem awful on just about everyone. Others work beautifully on one character, and not at all on others.
That's my point, from the one screen-cap, That is a G2F included smile dial causing the jaw to come threw the chin. NOT an add on expression pack.
Simply opening the mouth, shows the teeth, in the inner cheeks. The lower and upper Jaw is not being set properly for some reason.
Yeah there is something screwy about the jaw position. Keep having to adjust the z axis to push it back inside the mouth.
EDIT, Grrrr. I don't think that was what Totte (or whomever) was thinking when they started that RRRR contest.
add DemonicaEvilius Silver to the list. DES Lily.
Just a quickie test I did to show the results of using three different smile poses (2 of the 220 smiles morphs ported via GenX and one from newer Temptation and Drama for G2F set from the same vendors), all averaged together via Puppeteer rather than stacked on top of each other. The big trick, though, is lighting, duplicating a professional portrait shoot with a "fill in flash" made from a diffused distant light at the camera position, as well as a change in the surface materials of the teeth.
The outer most parts of the mouth need to come up just a smidgen, and to the best of my knowledge the only dial there is for that, turns a smile into a Joker grin.
It may be, that lower teeth showing thing, that dose ruins it as a smile.
Well dang...I think it's time to purchase 220 Emotions for Genesis and port a few up to G2F with GenX2!!

I had some pretty good results porting the Alice 4 expressions over to Genesis with GenX. Not necessarily all of them, but the lovely thing about ported expressions is that they come in on dials instead of being only presets.
Of course sometimes you get an expression package that ends up messing with your character morph, those are pretty much useless.
There are a swarm and a half of expression packs out there for gen4 which might do well ported. But you can't always tell what kind of result you're going to get.
One other incredibly useful item that GenX lets you port over is the tooth smoothing morph that comes with Hitomi. Originally intended to convert regular Genesis teeth to a smooth, toon-like appearance, it became a major lifesaver when the original version of YTeen Justin and Julie shipped with defective teeth and I've since found it invaluable in taking the curse off DAZ's often Chiclet/keyboard-like teeth.
The shots below are identical except that one has the tooth smooth dialed in at 16% and the other is without. Beyond that, both shots also use the tooth shader from Amazing skins (it's a V4 texture) and are getting an extra bit of kick from a dedicated AoA Advanced Spotlight that shines only on them, using soft medium brown shadows to help fill in the darker areas and make the teeth look more translucent.
It's a shame some things can only be done by buying multiparty products, to achieve what a single item could do. I am done with buying V4-to-G2F things. I went down that rode once to get 'The only' south-American texture ported from V4 to G2F, and in the end after buying everything except gen-2-x, and it all failing. A zone-renaming script of all things did the trick. That was one of a few areas where I threw away allot of real cash, that could have gone to more useful things, lol. I am happy for you that GenX-whatever is working well for you, I will have no more to do with any generation4 or earlier content, for many reasons.
