Does EvilInnocense Crossdresser 4 work anymore?

I am trying to convert Kiki clothes to Kids4 and then I can get Daz Studio to autofit to Genesis 3.  I have installed licenses for those characters.

Crossdresser is hung up on Loading Clothing :(

Has Windows 10 been updated so much that Crossdresser will not work anymore?

Thank you so much for your help!

Update:  I got Crossdresser to convert something for Aiko 3 to Aiko 4.  So I am not sure what is happening.

My crossdresser 4 works on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 and I just ran a conversion of Kiki Overalls to K4. Worked just fine. Maybe you need to close all the programs and load them up again. I might have what you are trying to convert so if you tell me I can see if I can convert your specific article.

I have a different issue to the above, but it also means cross dresser does not work. Basically it works on one of my PCs, but not the other one, nor the laptop. It is complaining about a missing DLL when I launch it. I tried to copy that dll from the PC where it is working, to the other two, but that just resulted in crossdresser crashing immediately.

It has been a long time since this app was updated I think, and so maybe that can create these dll incompatibilies. I imagine Windows 10 did not even exist the last time the program was updated.

when I first tried to use it on my windows 10  it would open but not load the XD morpher .exe  it kept giving me DLL errors

So I tried running the crossdresser 4 updater which should be included in the folder.  once i did that and updated everything  it started working again. i'm not sure why but glad it did

My crossdresser 4 always worked  on my windows 7  but i had to run the updater to get it work for w10 .plus there is a update for genesis 8  and La Home and La feme as well if you have a license for them

  • Wow!  Did I learn a lot today!!

The outfit I was trying to convert was Kiki WyntherGirl by Leilana purchased from RDNA, now it is at Rendo.

Well, I put my Poser and Daz Studio characters, clothing, etc. where I want them.

    So, under Kiki's main runtime:

                                                          Runtime

                                                              Libraries

                                                                Character

                                                                      Kiki WyntherGirl

                                                                             LWG Dress.cr2

                                                                            LWG Pants.cr2

                                                                           Poses

                                                                          Materials

Well, Crossdresser wants the cr2's to be under a Character folder, so I had to move to:

                                                          Runtime

                                                              Libraries

                                                                Character

                                                                      Kiki WyntherGirl

                                                                             Character

                                                                                   LWG Dress.cr2

                                                                                  LWG Pants.cr2

                                                                           Poses

                                                                          Materials

I moved another outfit by Leilana cr2 directly under a Character file and it worked.

Went back to  Kiki WyntherGirl and tried the pants.  The pants CONVERTED!!!   Yeah!!!

So, I tried the Dress again.  Crossdresser locked up for the tenth time on that dress.  So, there is something going on with that particular dress.

It was diffintely the outfit I was working with and the way I had my product installed.

I converted several things this morning.  As long as I moved the cr2 directly to a Character folder, it worked.

Now, the DLL problem Havos is having, that is weird!!  DLL's can really be confusing :(  I wish I had help for that.

    Thank you guys so much!!!

Hi Jan you can get the license at renderosity for lefem and la home. I didn't see the genesis 8 license I had got the perpetual all license bundle before RDNA closed their store so you may need to go directly to www.evilinnocenceDOTcom/crossdresser for the license for g8

I would post the direct link but daz does not allow competive store site linking sorry

I was able to buy the license bundle, too!!  I am so glad I did!

I haven't gotten into lefem and la home yet.  I want to, but funds are so limited since I retired. :(

After reading your post I thought I would try this, but strangely when I tested it first (I have not even started the app in at least a year) to see the error it now appears to work. Maybe a windows update has fixed the missing dll.

I only got Crossdresser in order to move clothing from some of the more obscure figures onto Genesis 8 via M4 and V4. One issue I do have is with pants. At least half the time they seem to stick together along the inner legs. Anyone had the same issue and know of a workaround?

Its not just pants, but tight skirts and one piece suites get that weird deformations around the crotch too. I usually can fix most of it by applying the smoothing modifiers or use fit control to problem area.  the pants or legging that appear to glue themself together in the legs, I use a step up work around.   I will use crossdresser to covert m4/v4 clothing to genesis1 first. then autofit the clothing from there to genesis 8 with a lot better results. then once you get it fitted to g8 resave it as new piece of clothing.  sometimes i get the same issue of welding the seams when converting long sleeve shirts from m4 to genesis 3 too that is why i started doing that step up method to genesis1 first.   My main use for crossdresser is converting genesis 8 clothing for poser characters like Aylson La Feme  which if you have the bundle license you can do tha.t other wise dson importer does not work in poser 12  for genesis8 clothing.  so that has been my work around to get poser to wear genesis 8 clothing and its hit or miss at best if it the clothing translate correctly

I am only converting from figures for which I do not have a Genesis 8 clone for (eg the standalone toon figures and the poser figures), to M4/V4, and then from there to Genesis 8. For this reason I do not need a licence for any figures except M4 and V4.

What do you mean by the step up method to fix the issue? I have tried using the "Fix Poke" and "Perturb" under Options, but these just change the problem to a slightly different area rather than eliminate it.

What do I mean when I say step up Step method?  instead of converting m4/v4clothing directly to genesis 8 with crossdresser  try to convert them to the  genesis 1 figure first  . which does not have the legs stitching together issues during the crossdresser conversion/ translation once you have the clothing fitted to Genesis 1   then load a genesis8 character m or f  into the scene and use autofit for the clothing you converted for Genesis to genesis 8 by using the  autofit tool that comes with daz studio it will fit the clothing much smoother stepping up the conversions from genesis 1 to Genesis 8 without getting the legs stitched together . I use to have step down clothing  using riversoftarts  genesis8 to genesis 3 clone tool https://www.daz3d.com/clothing-converter-from-genesis-8-female-to-genesis-3-female  and then autofit genesis3 clothing to genesis2 just to be able to use dson importer for poser.   cross dresser saves me a step in that process thats all

I never found a Genesis 1 plug in available for crossdresser. The newest relevant figures I found were M4 and V4. Can you point me to where I can get a genesis one, as that would be better for what I need, thanks.

Edit: As I had said earlier, I am not using Crossdresser to convert anything directly from M4/V4, I have all the Riversoft converters for that and they work very well. My problem is converting clothing for figures like Cookie and Chip onto Genesis 8.  I do not use either of those two figures, but there has been some clothing for them I want to move to Genesis 8. I don't care how it is done, and which figure I have to go through to get there. I only converted them to M4/V4 as from there I can get them easily onto Genesis 8. My problem is the conversion from Chip/Cookie to M4/V4, it is here where the clothing gets messed up.

Huh? I think we have some confusion ...lol There isn't one  for Genesis?  crossdresser can do genesis thru genesis 8 &  is used for converting gensis 1 - 8 clothing to old poser figures that i got in the bundle license genesis was included

    see pic

That why I said it was better that you use the step up method fitting old m4/v4 clothing using  autofit & by passing crossdresser all together ,  you can autofit v4/m4 directly to genesis 1 and then genesis 1 to genesis 8 directly with autofit plugin that is included in daz studio no clone is need that way just use a smoother modifier to smooth out any wrinkles sometimes the transfer utility works better for complicated clothing like layered dresses

i only use crossdresser to get genesis 3 &  8  clothing in to poser so i can use them for poser 12 because dson importer does not work for genesis 3 & 8 in poser perhaps i should have explained that better before hand

I always fit everything to V4 and M4 myself then go from there with DAZ Autofit

I haven't used it in ages though as found better ways to fit clothes

I have alot of generation 4 stuff  v4, m4 aiko tons of gen3 stuff too. and can use it very well in daz and poser & as you know genesis 8 clothing does not translate into poser. . crossdresser 4 is not a plugin or script or anything . its a old but cool standalone utility for help converting some daz clothing with poser characters there is a whole list of them when you buy the bundle license .  like using Genesis 3 female clothing with the v4 star character in poser 12, crossdresser 4 is perfect for converting things like that .it creates a cr2 file that can be reused in daz studio or poser.

Yes, I understood what you were using it for, which is to move clothing from newer to older figures.

I am doing the opposite, moving older stuff to newer, but unfortunately it is not too good at that when it messes up too many meshes.

Good render there. Very stylish and balanced like a good modern modeling studio.
