Anyone have any clues why I would see this error? It happens when I try to add G8F/M to a scene from the Smart Content tab by double clicking the icon.
If I drag the icon onto the stage it works. It is just double clicking.

There is probably also an isntalaltion through Daz Studio, the files from which have been removed (or the content directory changed). Try right-clicking on the product container for Geemsis 8 Starter Essentials (in the products tab of Smart Cotnent, or in the "folders" under G in the Products list in the Content Library) and seelcting Uninstall - that will, if present, clear references to any supposed Connect install and allow DS to access the DIM files instead.
Maybe it is related or not. I have a message to install the G8 essentials, though it is already installed. When I install it, just to have it gone away, the message comes back with the next launch of DAZ studio.
Seems like Smart content problem, but I don't use smart content, for it is not smart.
Smart Content is just a pane, it uses the same feature as the presets tabs in proerpty panes and the Category and Products containers in the Content Library pane - and the process of installation through Daz Studio. If this keeps happening it suggests that soemthing is blockign Daz Studio from properly updating the database after using Connect to install.
Connect, DIM and Smart content are features I don't need, never used and have the potential to produce errors like this one.

Why install through Daz studio?
I didn't ask for it.
The G8 figures used to work fine and still do, then why all of a sudden an error message about missing files, that are clearly there.
How to keep Connect of my system?
I've never understood, why those had to be introduced in the first place.
What is so difficult about installing some zip files?
If you don't want to use Connect don't let Daz Studio go online. Uninstall any products currently installed through Connect, or (if you don't need it) just reset the database (Content Library option menu>Content DB Maintenance>Reset databse, then optionally Content Library>Content DB Maintenance>Reimport Metadata to reload the metadata from previous isntallations through other methods). If you don't need the features don't use them, but they are useful to others.
