Does DAZ actively want to anger it's european customers?

So, yesterday morning after the DAZ store turnover I check the store for any interesting deals, later that day I look at the store again - still nothing.
Then today I wake up and find that there is a promotion with a free DAZ-Original that was apparently started while I was asleep - and that is apparently only active for the one (half) day.
At that point I only have five minutes left before store turnover and, because this is DAZ, the instructions to link your account are extremely cryptic. And so the promotion goes away.
I know you should not attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity but I don't know if incompetence is really sufficient to explain a marketing campaign for a social media site that:
-drops completely unnanounced
-lasts only half a day
-is a big middle finger to european customers
-and is, as is DAZ tradition, poorly explained
This is a marketing push that is very poor at promoting the NFT-shilling discord server and very good at pissing of people who live in europe, or who don't obsessively check the store multiple times a day.

I agree with you about promotions. I am not interested in the NFT thing though.
I was minutes from going to sleep when I saw the announcment, thought it would be better for me to get some rest before deciding.

If it makes you feel better, I tried to get linked to the Discord thing when it first came out, which didn't work properly--so 12 hours wasn't enough for me to get the freebie, either.

and you would need to jump through hoops on Discord to get it.
Though apparently Drago who I already own was included.

I too live in Europe. I did see the offer but I didn't manage to register at Discord, and now my email address and phone number are banned from that site, it appears.
It was a pretty small selection of items to choose from. Didn't see much that was interesting to me.
Drago would have been very cool, though... oh well.
But to your overall point... yes, DAZ, please run offers like that for 24 hours so everyone gets a chance.
Proves just again that DAZ still works on the principles of a "Mom&Pop's shop" while trying to sell themselves to the public as a "big player in the 3d business".
Neglecting their international customers, not having a company forum with several dedicated employees checking customer responds there and living by a "9 to 5 workdays mostly" schedule isn't a really "big business" approach nowadays.
In my case there actually were 2 items in the offer that I was interested in: Drago and VO Rose. But at this point I'm less mad and more baffled by the fact that anyone at DAZ thinks this is a good way to run a promotion. And it's not like this is an isolated incident either...
The coupon code was extended so if you signed up but then got an "invalid coupon" error and thus missed out, you should be able to use it now.
We've extended the freebie from yesterday thru today and will have a new daily deal for those who join our discord tomorrow! Enjoy :)
Flash sales are one of my biggest pet peeves on the Daz Store, and I seriously believe Daz should get rid of them and somehow incorporate the offers into the daily deals, to make them run for the whole day. And yes, that is simply due to the fact that I'm European and that flash sales are regionally biased.
I work shifts, the hours that I'm awake change every couple of days. And while I can not log on from work, or make time to scrutinize every sale, I do often have a few minutes to check the website. And it is a simple fact that most flash sales run between midnight and 8 AM Paris time, effectively locking out European and African customers on the basis that they were born in the wrong place on the planet.
TL;DR: abolish flash sales and combine them into the daily offer, or at least come up with some new format that runs for 24 hours.

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate this and hope that I haven't been too harsh (although my point that these kind of very-short-time deals are a bad idea stands).
Daz occasionally also has deals that are inconvenient for non-European timezones. It'll all be better in the Metaverse.
