How do I get rid of the "What do I do?" pane?

i've just had to set up a new pc from scratch, as the old one blew up (literally), so i'm taking this as an opportunity to do something about various annoyances in various apps, that i used to just *shrug* and live with in the past

so, for DS, which i've been using for, like, ever, how do i get rid of the irritatingly persistent screen estate hog, the "What do I do?" pane?

i know what to do, i'd rather have that space taken up with something meaningful, but i can't find any way to hide the blooming thing

That only shows up in tabs when you don't have anything selected in your scene, it's also easy enough to get rid of but you'll be left with a blank tab if you don't have anything selected.

Head to where you installed DS, for me that's "Program Files > DAZ 3D > DAZStudio4", once there find the resources folder, inside it you will find a folder called "guide pages", just rename it (I added !! to it) and DS wont be able to find it any more.

If you don't want the panes open, close them - or minimise them by clicking the tab which, if they are docked, will shrink the column or row so only the row of tabs shows (like iconising a pane in Photoshop etc.).

i do want them open, i just don't want them displaying those faintly irritating "hey granny, wanna learn how to suck some eggs today?" screens
