Hair Commission

Frankly, I'm not sure if this is the right subforum, but I'm not sure where else it'd go. I'm looking to get some custom hair made. Is there anyone around that does that for pay?

  • Could be however if you post an image of hairstyle you want, it is quite possibly already made and suggestions could be posted for your consideration. This would be a lot more economical.

Well I can pretty much guarantee it doesn't exist, since I'd want to sorta recreate - re-intepret Broly (from Dragon Ball Z)'s hair. And there's already not as much male hair, and there's even less crazy anime hair.

Here's a more.... loose and realistic interpretation

Hence my desire to commission it, since my 3D talents are not nearly up to snuff yet.

Can I suggest you look at Shinteo's Patreon site. He does a lot of freebies, many of which are game converts. You may well find a hair that is close enough in one of his freebie offerings. His site is here: https://www.patreon.com/Shinteo/posts,. If you know of a game with characters with similar hair it may well shorten your search as he has done hundreds of characters. It depends on how exacting your requirements are, accepting something 'Quite like' will be cheaper than an exact commission.

OK. Check this out and apply flame shaders as need be to the hair: https://www.patreon.com/posts/broly-for-g8m-40195097

    Regards,

    Richard

I've seen stuff like this pop up in conversation before on the forums.  So are these things morphs and textures with accessories (like the outfits), or is turning the whole game mesh into a wearable?

I am not 100% sure exactly how Shinteo does what he does, but I have gleaned the general process from watching some of his videos.

Many of the games permit extraction of the game mesh from the game for the production of Fan art, and I think that's basically what he does for everything except the character - much of the stuff is pretty low poly count and in the case of 'Kratos' from 'God of War' the textures of the ancilliary stuff are as they are in the game but they have been turned into wearable items. For the character, he seems to use Wrap 3 and other sculpting tools to make the G8 generation character have the same shape as the game character. The textures, on the character where I looked, look as if they may be game textures chopped & rebuilt to into standard UV G8 textures though I have not looked at it for more than one.The package he produces is similar to a normal DS installation zip file with clothing, hair, accessories & morph, but puts all the .duf files into a '@Cosplay' directory under the 'People' directory of the normal DS Content library.

    Regards,

    Richard

There's this one, editorial use only: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/wig-super-saiyan-3d-model-1409967

Oh yes, in Google search, words used: wild anime hair ... found a $150 MOUSE/RAT.
