Problem with fitting props to Genesis 8

Just when I thought I was getting the hang of Daz Studio 3D (Ver 4.16.0.3 Pro Edition 64 bit) I wanted to try something new with my Genesis female models. I purchased a couple different genital and pubic hair packages. I got the genital package to work, but the pubic hair packages are NOT working. I have Pubic Hair V7 and also Natural Pubes for G8F (both from a third party vendor). Even though the Genesis 8 models I've tried both on seem to be accepting the applications (no notices that something is missing), I'm still seeing nothing on the model's body. I don't even see anything that is added in the Scene that indicates that something was applied. Everything appears to have installed in the correct locations in My Daz 3D Library. The installed items appear in the Content Library.

Maybe someone knows if I'm missing a step? Thanks!

  • I am not familiar with the products, but ti sounds as if they may be settings (probably materials) and you need the correct tartet item loaded and perhaps selected. Check to see if there are readme files with instructions, also check to see if there are base files in with the ones you are trying to use, or in the parent folder, that perhaps need to be used first.

In the Scene tab which shows all the objects in the scene, you have a datafield at the very top, with an icon that presents a magnifying glass.
Try typing the first few letters of your object's name, to check if it's present in the scene.
Then, you will have to click on the last arrow which is on the right, to launch the search.
Sometimes objects like eyelashes or pubic hair are placed in the Genesis body tree, and you don't see them in the Scene tab.
This datafield, which allows you to do this research, avoids unwinding the entire tree structure of the character.

  • Willy2 - I don't know what you are talking about when you say the Genesis body tree and that the item may not be in the Scene tab. How do I find the Genesis body tree. Running a search for the item turns up no results, although when applying the prop to the Genesis model's selected area, the function occurs as if it happened, yet I see nothing. Under the Edit drop down menu, it even shows the UNDO selection of what was just loaded. I have nothing showing up in Parameters or Surfaces in the Scene. This is kind of bizarre that Daz Studio shows that it made the application but it's nowhere to be found.
