Revisiting shadows in space (Blender 3)

It's been nearly a year since I looked at the scene file and I pulled it into Blender 3 to try for some Cycles X shadow improvements. I'm interested in learning how to improve the shadows more without going crazy with samples and denoising that makes it take days to render. This scene started out in Studio and was ported to Blender via Diffeo.

... Just thinking though, that spaceship can also enter atmosphere? Otherwise Im wondering why there are wings. :)
