Let me see if I understand this.

The figure looks normal. Then when you start moving around the camera in the editor, the figure deforms and looks blocky. Then when you let up on the mouse and stop moving the camera, the figure goes back to normal. Is that correct?

Does anything else do it? Props? Trees? Desks? Things like that? Is it all generations of figures, or just Gen 5-6?

It sounds like you have made a change to the Tool Settings.

Go to Window > Panes (Tabs) > Tool Settings, and look for During Manipulation near the bottom of the pane, and set the Draw Style to 'Use Current (Off)' that should fix it.

That happened to me once and I thought it was hilarious. I was like, "So this is a feature I guess."

Indeed it is a feature. It's intended for slower graphic cards; keeps the UI working smoothly because the card doesn't have to spend all its time rendering the preview until you take your hand off the mouse.
