for those of you intimated by Blender's interface but curious to know how to get around in this incredibly powerful and remarkably\ free software I recommend you watch this very short video.

Jonathan WIlliamson is talented 3D artist and excellent instructor. Blender Cookie is a tutorial site for free and paid for content and I don't work for them.

Wow, yes Mr. Williamson is possibly the best tutorial giver I've seen, particularly on a complex topic like this.
Really good!
That link goes to a video with instructor Jonathan Lampel, not Williamson.
thanks for link. I do apprecate this, as it looks really good, but my budget cant afford to buy a sub right now, especially annual all at once, and the monthly is double the price. I might do a couple of the free ones. There is a new one on 3D printing which would be great to do.
Free tutorials on those popular youtube Blender channels are good enough for newbies of Blender ~
It is BIZARRE to me how hard it was to find the most basic information:
[R] + [X] [Y] or [Z] = Rotate on # axis
[G] + [X] [Y] or [Z] = Grab (and move) on # axis
These simple keys in Blender changed EVERYTHING for me, but prior to digging and tunneling to the center of the Earth, these somehow eluded me. SHEESH! I watched tutorials for "complete beginners/idiots/non-3D Artists, etc" and they would start the tutorial by grabbing and moving stuff, zooming all around the scene talking about this and that but NEVER explaining how to manipulate objects, or even how to change the camera view. When they say "for beginners" they need to think "crayons and drool" rather than "Bachelor's Degree of 3D Arts" beginner.
Thanks for the video link I will def check it out when I get home.
They are updating for Blender 4.x now but the tutorials are still good.
It's worth mentioning that there are two "bridge" softwares between Daz and Blender. There's the official one, and then there's Diffeomorphic. Both are free and have been around for a while. Here in the Daz Forum there's an active thread dedicated to them.
Cheers!
Thanks StratDragon!
Blender = my worst nightmare of a UI, LOL
