Can I have 4.7 and 4.8 beta installed on the same PC?

The documentation only says you can have a public release and a beta version of the same major release installed at the same time. It doesn't say anything about having 4.7 and 4.8 installed at the same time.

I've got an NVidia GeForce GTX 590 but its a fairly old one, I've had the PC for about 4 years now. I'd be interested to see if this does work with my graphics card and how good it is, but I don't want to replace my current copy of Daz Studio with a beta version.

Yes you can have the 4.8 beta installed at the same times as your 4,7 installation, but you can only download and install the beta using DIM in order for this to be allowed.

Thank you for that. My next question was going to be whether the Download manager would let me keep the old version and you've answered that as well!

I did that but now my ds 4.7 will no longer load. It's still there just not loading and the beta version is 32 bit for some reason and my 4.7 is 64 bit. I don't know why my 4.7 won't load anymore since I installed the Beta.

I didn't have this problem, I've got 4.7 and 4.8 beta installed and they both work.

I don't use 32 bit versions any more, they are both 64 bit. I let install manager install the 4.8 beta and in the Downloads tab of options I have selected 64 bit only. chohole said that you have to use the download manager to do this, did you use it? If not, you can probably use it to re-install 4.7 and 4.8 (although I haven't tried this).

In the lower left of the splash screen it should say what step it's up to when loading -- what step is it hanging on?
