It should be mentioned in the description of the product that you need a 64 bit system to use the new render engine. It makes sense after all but this can lead to confusion as to what version 4.8 can or cannot do for you and it should be clear up front.

So that is why after blowing my monthly download limit on new drivers and everything in hopes of making it work it just doesn't appear. I do believe some people using 32 bit systems are running it though I have also been going insane trying to find out the exact specifications for it and have come up nothing. If the final release of 4.8 doesn't include iray for 32 bit systems I am done with 3d I can't afford to upgrade my hardware constantly and drop money on content. Le sigh

not sure how they have it on 32 bit, certainly it wasn't packaged with mine.

i am going to wait until i build a new computer but that will not be for a while.

Kat Briggs said (on one of the other Iray threads) that Nvdia does not have a 32-bit version of Iray. Not a DAZ issue as such, outside of not documenting that in the beta announcement.

Yes, you're right because i've searched all day long how to get this engine with this 4.8 ! and i only found now, that's because i have a 32 its version.....

i didn't should have to download it if i knew that before ! What a waste of time for me !

i think really that daz should make it clear that it is 64bit only if they would.

yes just learnt this too installing to my old craptop
but must admit even 3Delight works better in 4.8 than previous versions of DS esp DS3 on this old thing.
I used carrara and Poser for years as DS was unusable pretty much on it, stuff crashed it just loading in scene.
damn it even renders avi without crashing.

Yes, I've noticed that 3Delight renders are dramatically faster than they were in previous versions, so it's probably worth getting the beta just for that.

I work on a 32 bit system, so IRay is totally out for me, not that I really planned on using it. I'll wait for the final release of 4.8 since I don't use DIM, and thus can't download the Beta. It's cool that the 3Delight render engine is supposed to be faster in 4.8. My renders take forever.

I'm also on a 32-bit system and agree that it should have been mentioned (IN CAPITAL LETTERS) that Iray will not work with a 32-bit system. My crystal ball does not show a new computer for me, so I guess I'll just have to make do with what I've got. Will probably save me a bundle of money.

if anyone at Daz3d is reading
    http://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta
should be updated to mention that Iray is an exclusive feature to the 64 bit version at this time.
