No expert here, but I found angle of you lights, and the angle of your camera greatly affect mirror reflections in renders. try moving your light source around some.
reflection clarity in 3delight? Some notes in passing threw, for 3delight.
Surface properties;
Diffuse, as dark as you can get for whatever the surface is.
bump and displacement, the rougher the surface, the worse the reflection.
'Specular' as bright as you can for the surface type (mirror, metal, polished stone, etc)
Render settings.
"progressive Render" on. Will do really good reflections most of the time, tho every thing else tends to be a tad lower in details (most of the time)
"progressive Render" off. more setting become active, and matter.
Sampling rate. This is inverse (1 = 1 sample per pixel, 0.5 = 2 samples per pixel, etc) The lower this number is, the longer it takes to render, and the better the render quality. I've noticed nice clean reflections usually require a Sampling rate of 0.1 or lower to really look good.
I know how to make reflections in mirrors, the only thing is that the reflections are still dark and the model cant be seen clearly.
I have attached a couple renders of what in try,n to do and one of my own. If any one can help please., You will be able to see in my render how it is still dark, and the renders from the other two the mirros reflections are clear
I have made a second post by mistake. the images are there to view.
You need to have light falling on the part of the figure that is being reflected in the mirror. If that portion is not lit, then there is nothing to reflect clearly.
You need some kind of lighting on the surface facing the mirror in other words.
thanks i will give it a try

thanks for the merge
Personally, i always forget that the specular is multiplied by the reflection; perhaps you do the same? -> set specular color to white and specular strength to 100%.
“progressive Render" works great! The reflection is much smoother. Thanks for all the info everyone..
