DAZ vs 3D Printing: I'm confused ....

Hi,
As I understand it, for 3D printing one needs a 'one-mesh-object' for successful printing result.
Yet ... I see here: http://www.daz3d.com/3d-print/ stated that DAZ object can be printed without problems?
So ... I'm confused ...
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance.

If you notice it does say Genesis 2 figures are 3d Printer ready. If you re-downloaded the genesis 2 starter essentials after the 3d figures arrived in the store you will find it has an extra dial which allows you to make it watertight for 3D printing.
