GeoShell not working ? Well not exactly...

I purchased a number of products from Renderosity that used Geoshell and found that the geoshell did not show up after loading the clothes item so I could not select it and then load the style etc. I discussed the issue w the vendor who suggested uninstalling and re-installing DAZ Studio because his products worked just fine for everyone.

I followed the suggestion but this did not help.

I got in touch with DAZ Tech support and included a screen capture (as well as the full system report via Studio) showing that the Geoshell was not to be found in the Scenes tab at all. It took a hell of a long time to get a response from Tech Support. They asked me for more information inc the clothing item so "they could replicate the problem".  In retrospect this comment does not make much sense given that the product works fine for everyone.
I expected them to tell me which component of the install was missing etc.

I gave them the name of clothing item and the vendor from Renderosity and this time I got a quick reply saying they were not responsible for solving problems with non DAZ vendor items. I had asked them to please tell me the name of a DAZ vendor item that used GeoShells, so I could test an in house item on my system. They never replied to this question.
So I ended searching on DAZ3D and found a program which I bought and that did not work either. I could not see the GeoShell appear after loading the item. So I did the same experiment on another computer and it worked fine there, and to so did the item from Renderosity. So this proved that  the problem was specific to my installation (or in retrospect my configuration) of DAZ Studio.

I'm afraid that I now consider DAZ Tech support to be abysmally poor and in this specific case totally incompetent.

I found the solution which was that the Show Objects check marked (under the  Show Section of the OPTIONS for ACTIVE PANE) was missing. So, the geoshell still worked but I could not see it, hence could not select and then choose the style of pants etc.

I have no idea how that option check mark got removed !

So if you hear of anyone with a similar GeoShell problem, this is the first thing to check.
