Something in my eye: Weird problem with eye surface or geometry or somthing

I've found, when I went for a close up of a model's face I set up, something weird with the eye...a..line? of white between the lower lid and the eyeball.

I've changed the opacity on a few of the suraces to try to identify this but so far no luck.

Anyone know what I'm seeing here?

    Possibly the 'Tear' surface.

I'm 90% sure i tried 0'ing that to no effect, but i'll check again.

Check the reflection and the spec I remember once having a problem and even with the opacity and diffuse at 0 the reflection caused a problem.

Take a look at the refraction values as well, or just apply a water shader to the "tear" surface.

That is the Tear surface. If you are rendering in Iray and start with the new (updated) G2F or G2M base and apply your character preset, or material preset to that, it should, presuming nothing out of the ordinary was done to these surfaces, automatically perform a special translation to the Eye Reflection, Cornea and Tear surfaces.

Thanks! It looks like it was the Specular setting on Tear. it was at 50%, (opacity WAS at 0) moving it to 0 got rid of it.

Hmm, I don't appear to have one of those...what I did have which I thought was water, made a solid bar across the lid. oh well.

Note that simply zeroing Opacity doesn't remove the effects of other parameters; Specular, Reflection, Refraction etc. all have valid reasons to still work in some way, even on a completely transparent surface. Make sure everything is zeroed, and all attached texture maps removed.

Thank you for that link. Don't think I'd seen it before.
