DAZstudio CMS problem

edited March 2015 in Daz Studio Discussion

In an attempt to clean up (I had 2 libraries that always caused a bit of conflict, many instances of grey blocks characters...) I ended up reinstalling everything but now something is wrong, when I try to load a character, Aiko for instance, they all end up being the default basic genesis2 character with some slight body variation, like thinner waist and stuff like that, but nothing like the intended character, also if you try to apply an expression it moves only the eyes and poses have weird results. I tried to rebuild the CMS but to no avail

it' a windows 7 machine

thanks

When you reinstalled your content, did you use DIM (DAZ Install Manager)?

If so, did you enter the path to the content in BOTH DAZ Studio Formats AND Poser Formats in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager.

DIM installs to C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library by default, and needs to be listed as above.

yes, it's installed via DIM, and everything is in the default locations... but I don't think it's a matter of directory locations because clothing works, I can apply them on the characters, it's just that they are all the base one ... so no Aiko, Giselle etc etc...

Do you have this path : 'C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library' listed as both formats in your Content Directory Manager?

I mean that path EXACTLY, nothing added after 'My DAZ 3D Library' in either path?

Did you install Genesis Starter Essentials AND Genesis 2 Starter Essentials (Male and Female)?

Since you reinstalled everything to default locations using DIM, I am at a loss as to what has happened, unless you have not installed the necessary base packages.

There are 3 Parameter sliders for Aiko 6. One for the Head, one for the Body, and one for both (Head and Body) Load a base Genesis 2 Female character, and then try the sliders in the Parameters pane as listed above.
