Question about DIM product updates

DS 4.15 immediately crashes for me on iRay preview with a1080ti so I reverted to DS 4.14 beta which works much better and crashes less often. I haven’t dared try 4.16. There are new updates for all the HD addons and for several of Rarestone’s poses. Do Ineed to update these? Will the HD updates work on DS 4.14 beta? What exactly has been updated? I have no use for the Metamixer. I’m happy using dials. Why are Rarestone’s poses being updated? Should I update or leave everything alone?

I personally left everything alone and hid those items from view. Pretty sure those updates were for the MetaMixer. I'm using 4.10 so any of those updates are useless to me. I was worried updating would break the product for me.

The HD updates were to add MetaMixer files. The Rarestone poses were updated as they are now a DAZ Original after the buyout. I updated them but I'm not sure if anything fundamental was changed in the actual content other than some folder reassignment.

Yes that’s what I’m afraid of too.

There is no need to fear an update. If you have any doubts about an update, simply copy/move your existing .zip package somewhere. Download the new one and examine the contents to see what has changed and decide if it will be worth it. If so, install and carry on. If not, delete the new .zip package (or save another copy somewhere... else; don't forget, it will have the same name as the old one, so don't overwrite your backup copy) and copy the previous one back where it was. Refresh DIM, and you will be back where you were before, since you haven't installed anything.

If you do install and find that you need to roll back, you can always re-install the old one, as long as you have that backup copy.
