Goodbye, Sir Pterry.

I choose to believe he has retreated into L-Space, to kick back with the Librarian and discuss various and sundry matters.

I learned English reading his books. it's always sad, to part with such joy as he provided.

According to latest reports, it was pneumonia, not the Great Embuggerment. So he was still himself (for the most part) when he passed.

    The coolest author, ever...

Who else, upon being knighted, goes out and makes his own sword?

Terry Pratchett has been a feature of my life since the 1980s. I've met him numerous times since then and I have grown to admire him a great deal. Not just for his skills as a writer (and he was a genuine craftsman of the written word) but for his humanity as well. He cared for people.

    May he rest in peace.

    Alex.

Really very sad news... Both me and my daughter loved his books.

:-( In Terry's own words, from Night Watch:

A certain realization dawned on him.

    "Oh," he said.

    YES, said Death.

"Not even time to finish my cake?"

NO. THERE IS NO MORE TIME, EVEN FOR CAKE. FOR YOU, THE CAKE IS OVER. YOU HAVE REACHED THE END OF CAKE.

Haven't read his books in ages. Did meet him briefly, just once. Just bought "The Color of Magic" to reread. Forgot how hilarious it was. How could I forget the "Big Bang Theory". Sad to see him go, but in many cases hanging on for ages is even worse.
