This thread is intended for questions specifically about the Non-Fungible People NFT/NFP Collection. There are already several threads for concerns, questions, and objections to NFTs in General and we ask that those questions please be kept in those threads.
I am considering making some ... yes, I am whitelisted ... are we expected to produce full 3D items that require the interactive license or are 2d images sufficient? I have not worked with interactive before ... so that feels like a big step to take as I am not invested in it at all yet.
That's a good question, if you don't get an answer here I would open a Sales Support ticket.
I'm just vaguely curious about where the 8,888 number came from. Given the reception the concept had here it seems a bit optimistic. OTOH, as I understand it, the vast majority of the active customer base does not spend much (if any at all) time on the fora here, unlike some of us that seem to live here
so 8,888 may not be far off the mark.
I am not sure how they decided on that number, but they are making more like 16,000 and choosing the better ones. They are being randomly generated (yes, like the randomizers). I am curious what aspect will make the rare ones so rare. Is an outfit used only once or do they have some unique stuff that may not be available in the store?
Well, in Chinese culture the number 8 is considered a lucky number associated with wealth, and having the number 8 in a phone number or license plate is considered good luck... and the more eights the better.
As a kid, my best friend's dad had a license plate that was his initials and all eights... his family in Hong Kong though it was very cool you could get vanity plates like that here.
No. I have put in a help ticket to get an official answer from DS. I will give the general answer of yes or no when I receive that information.
By the way, I just gave myself a scare ... I thought about the commonality of glitches, problems, and the game of shopping cart jenga that usually goes on here each night and I thought of applying that to the start of this project ... ?!?!? We shall see.
In casinos and different other contexts it's 7.
I received an official answer from DS HELP: yes, an interactive license is needed for the items used in a personal avatar for VR / 3D chatrooms. When the NFP's went live, it also stated that the interactive license is part of the package.
So, as it not an original figure, you not only need Interactive licence for that character, but also for the base figure, and everything fitted to the character that costs $800USD...
As far as I can tell the NFP includes the interactive license.
Also for the base figure?
The details refer to them throughout as "fully rigged 3D model." I don't know how they are being implemented but it certainly seems that they will not have any license dependencies, whether that is handled by baking them off to a new asset or by giving an Interactive License for that particular implementation of the standard base figure I don't know. I will see if I can get clarification on that point.
you would think if they are selling like hotcakes DAZ would be showcasing the happy user's testomonies etc.![surprise surprise](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/omg_smile.png)
Obviously nobody who posts in this forum though as we are the one percenters![wink wink](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.png)
...Unless these customers are shock only buying them for the Blockchain value not the art and content.
Actually, they just went into presale today ... public sale is not until next week ... so, technically, there are no customers yet.
The initial sales period has only just started, or is yet to start, as far as I recall.
well I better wait with bated breath then
to see all these wonderful things that justify the costs
I have spent the last two weeks learning a lot about NFT's, cryptocurrencies, etc. It is my opinion that the digital art market has a huge price bubble going. I do not know how it could sustain itself long term and probably it will burst at some point. That being said, the Daz Studio product actually delivers a lot more than the standard digital art because it is a usable 3D avatar. Between the character, clothing, hair, lie and geoshell layers, accessories, and all those interactive licenses ... it is worth some money. (but still probably not as much as the market is driving the price to).
EDIT: I guess you can add some value to the fact it takes so much to learn Daz Studio and how to put everything together as well.
True, DAZ has made their NFT's in the spirit of the concept as it may have been in the heads of the original inventors, but then they have put them on a market place where the millions of other NFT's have nothing to do with the same spirit...
This makes sense
What do you mean by "whitelisted"
"whitelisted" means I earned a place in the pre-sale of the NFP's by being active in their discord group ... which basically translates as I got a discount on a purchase.
Oh I see
It's worth noting that, according to the transactions on OpenSea, their older NFTs have seen a spike in sales this month. They sold 30 NFTs for about $10,000 since last Monday. While private individuals have turned around and resold 13 NFTs for approximately $23,000. Keep in mind the price reflects the value of the ETH spent today. Since ETH has been rebounding from slump, it's fair to say the gap between what Daz sold them for vs. what the private sellers are reselling them at is larger than $13k.

Sorry it took a while to get an answer on this. The NFP includes the Inetractive License for the base figure and all the other elements, so you can use it in a game without needing any additional licenses (for as long as you own the NFP).
Any reason the NFP's are all female and non-binary, and males are not included?
What about the renders that you made while you owned the NFT? Would you still own those after you've sold the NFT?
