We Need A Gift Card & Membership Sale

Historically Daz has had excellent Membership sales around Christmas.  I am watching.  If we don't get a decent sale I will have to let my membership lapse and won't be able to buy until we get one, that would be so sad.  I am also in need of a Gift Card sale.  With all the excellent sales I am running out of money.  Again, I will have to sit on the side lines.  Am I alone here?

There have been quite a few 30-40% off membership sales recently. I also recall a GC sale recently also.

Keep in mind you can purchase a membership any time and it will just add to the existing time you have.

Yes, but the really good sales have normally come at Christmas.  I am waiting.

There was a 20% off gift cards a few weeks ago. But gift card sales have been rare of late and ususally very tight, only 5% or 10% off. Everything at Daz is getting more expensive. But I've been saving a lot of money because we just keep recycling cybersuits and skimpware for the most part. The Nutcracker character was the first original item to come out in months.

Also a 20% code that worked with gift cards only a few days ago (Tuesday).

I have bought memberships at 75% off in the past, but those sort of deals have long gone, and the best I have seen over the last year has been around the 30-40% mark. Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for DAZ, the new store bought in last October seems to be much better at spotting stacking discounts, so the heavy discounts are no longer seen. I assume that was one of the motivations behind the new store, as it doesn't seem to have done much to stop the endless gliches.

I missed it on Tuesday.  Was it a Flash Sale?  I work a lot and usually look at Daz early in the morning before work.

  • I got an offer after I canceled my membership so that it would not auto-renew but I can't find a link to put a membership in the cart.  Does anyone have a link to put a membership in the cart?  Thanks.

  • The current gift card discount of 15% is not working :( the gift card is showing up at full price

It was part of that day's holiday loyalty sale: 20% off up to 10 Daz Originals with a coupon code. Gift cards worked as one of the "up to 10".

That is a mistake. The sale on them was released early on accident. Is it still showing on sale somewhere? If so let us know so we can have it fixed.

  • To my recollection, the big gift card sales at DAZ usually come right after Christmas. That when I've bought them in the past, anyway.

    Need?

Nah. If they don't offer sufficient incentive I save cash, so I'm good either way. :)

I don't click buy for anything less than 20% (without buyins) - and invariably it needs to be more. More is rare but it does exist.

Yes. I extended my membership when I was offered a 75% discount. I am not going to renew my membership if I am not going to get another 75% discount, and that would mean I stop buying anything here. But that would save me a lot of money, and I have enough toys to play with as I am not particularly crazy in love with G8.1. So it's really not bad if I do not renew my membership.

  • The sales Daz did this time last year between Black Friday and New Years were really good.....I must have spent around $1,000.....and a lot of the stuff I bought I've never even used, but the sale prices were too good to pass up...especially the 97% off Pro Bundles....that was great! It kind of programmed me to check the site on a daily basis. I have to be honest though, all the sales since then have straight up sucked. I have hundreds of dollars burning a hole in my pocket just waiting for some good sales but I just seem to find myself being disappointed every time I log in. Either the items being offered don't interest me or the prices are more than I want to pay. I must have 600 items still on my wish list but it just seems like we're not going to see any good sales this year like we did last year.

    Should be around late 2020.
  • Not sure how you got 75% discount. I got 60% off on 14 Dec 2020

  • HavosHavos Posts: 5,394

I paid $14 dollars in Feb 2020, so that is 80%. It was a stacking discount if I recall, and I had to buy some other stuff to get that discount.

However anyone looking to renew should not wait for a deal like that, as it is highly unlikely to come along very often, maybe never. 30-40% is a reasonable discount in recent times. Membership still pays off if you buy a lot, so 40 odd dollars for a year is not a bad deal. Certainly a better deal than those shortlived Season Passes, at least in my opinion.

  • If you search the internets for "Daz3d coupons" usually something comes up from 3rd party websites. Not all coupons will work but worth a shot.

  • We just got a gift card sale!

    yeh, but not enough.

Was just looking to see if anyone else was talking about this, and I'm sad to see it's true. The gift card sales really do seem to be coming a lot less frequently lately and at lower discounts. Not happy about it, that's for sure.

Same. I've got a few months until mine expires, but I hope they have one soon.

We got 2 GC this month though. Albeit one at 10% and the other 15% off only. I buy them when they're 20% off or more with little to no extra purchases. I'm just hoping I can see 20% off GC deals before or during March sales event.

There was one on the 16 January where you could get 27.7% off a gift card, although that wasn't well publicized.

    Wait what?!? How?!?

Could you guide me through the math? What did i miss?

This is what I think, please correct me if I'm wrong.

That must have been the 15% off. Was that related to the purchases from previous week, the 3% per day if you spent $25 or more each day, you'd get up to 12% off? That would make it to 25.2% off (0.85 * 0.88). If that's the case and based on the example, then for me it wasn't worth it. I would have to spend a minimum of $100 to get the additional 10.2% off. This means that if I buy a $500 GC at 25.2% off, I'd pay $374 for it, but I spent $100 on previous purchases (that I didn't want) so the total cost of the GC is $474 for a net gain of only $26, which is just a lame 5.2% off.

The 27.7% is if the max discount was 15% instead of 12%. I though the max was 12%. For the 27.7% the net gain is even worse. $500 at 27.7% = $361.5 + $125 = $486.5 for a net gain of $13.5 or just 2.7%

Lucky were those who purchased items they really wanted at a discount they were happy with. For me neither the items or their discounts were appealing enough. So I like to think I didn't miss anything.

I'm learning DAZ tactics and avoiding their traps. I don't always succeed though.

I've never seen a discount combo that massive for a gift card. At most 24% only once or twice in the last 15 months or so with very little purchase requirements.

There was a coupon code (EXTRA15) for an extra 15% off carts over $35  and it could be applied to gift cards which were already 15% off. So a $100 gift card was $85 and applying the code lowered the cost to $72.25
