Does more RAM increase render times with Processor?

Because I have a full AMD system, and upgrading isnt really an option with the current GPU market situation, I have to render with my poor R5 2600 with 12gb ram. Unlike GPUs, RAM seems to have relatively normal prices rn so I thought about upgrading and buying an additional 16gb kit. Will this improve the time it takes for me to render images?

Thx!

You can check in Windows task manager when the scene starts getting ready to render if/how much the hard drive is being accessed.

Under the performance tab, then memory on the left to check if the memory is being maxed out.  If your task manager doesnt have the tabs along the top, you will have an option to click at the bottom left corner.

If you're using AMD hardware (like me), it may be worthwhile to try exporting through Diffeomorphic and rendering in Blender. It's a big learning curve, but it pays off because then you can add smoke, fire, liquid, particles, motion blur and all sorts of other things in Blender. Plus, the latest version adds support for newer AMD cards in Cycles-X.
