AoA Advanced Ambient Light and Studio 4.8

Okay it appears that AoA Advanced Ambient Light is not working in 4.8 for some reason. When I try a render I get no light in the scene from it and some of the parameters are missing from the parameters tab. Oh yeah and that was not with an Iray render but with a 3Delight render. It works fine in 4.7, I have not tested any of AoA other lights. Anyone else noticed this?

You need to install the AoA lights into DS 4.8.
Oh, okay, I was assuming that like my other content that if they showed up in the content library in 4,8 that they would work. Is there a way to do this using install manager or do I need to do it manually?

I used DIM. I went to the Installed tab and uninstalled them. Then I went to the Ready to Install tab and installed them again. After that, they seemed to work in DS 4.8 (with 3delight) in the same way they worked in DS 4.7. They do not work in Iray, because they are based on 3delight shader technology.
That applies to most content, but the AoA lights aren't just what you see in the content tabs. They're just presets for the actual light plugin files which are installed to the DAZ|Studio program folder. Since the current release version 4.7 and the beta 4.8 are installed into different locations, the beta doesn't know about the light plugin files until you install them.
so it is not possible to have them in 4.7 and 4.8 because I have to unistall them in 4.7 while I install them in 4.8?
if that is so I think I leave them in 4.7 because since they did not work with iray it is not necessery to have them in 4.8
No, if you uninstall and reinstall them with DIM they will be installed to both.
thank you for that Information; did it right now.
