Haha very disrespectful. No not cats or porn. During the conference I met a woman from Sweden in chat and i mentioned being very depressed after both my parents died in less than a year. She did a cathartic guided meditation with me in VR. She also gifted me an NFT with a downloadable mov file with another meditation with beautiful graphics and music

I'm genuinely sorry... I wasn't trying to be disrespectful, and I had no way of knowing about your loss... I was just making a joke... that's actually a pretty standard "origin of the Internet" kinda joke, but it was in no way meant to mock you or your experience.

I wish you peace and inner solace and I'm sorry if what I thought might have been a funny quip was in any way hurtful.

In the future I will try to remember that you do not appreciate my annoying sense of humor and will not burden you with it.

Whoa there, Kemosabe!  With all due respect, people NOT UNDERSTANDING this isn't the fault of the people who don't understand it.

I mean, how can I fungibly understand something that is non-fungible in nature...aka, something that could be charged money for, but still has essentially a value of zero (sheckels, clams, gold pieces, bucks, Drachmas, Yen, Pence, Pounds, Euros, Benjamins, Loonies, or whatever other denomenations might be used).

This is all just one huge distraction.  For me, for you, for all customers, and most importantly, for DAZ and the PAs.  There are so many other things that DAZ could (and should) be working on.  And yet, everybody spends their time trying to escape the tar pit that is NFT.

DAZ could fix this tangled mess.  Why don't they?  All they need to do is bring stability and confidence back to the market.  Yeah, I say that like it's a small thing.  But I'm not wrong.  Once they figure out how to do that, it will be a small thing and this sad, sorry chapter will finally come to a close.

Not trying to minimize your pain.  But I went through exactly the same thing, with my mom and dad both passing within less than a year of each other.  Whatever works to help reduce your pain is fine by me.  But my NFT discussions, particularly if they are represented by something that is a noun, absolutely MUST be from the standpoint of business and financial value.

When I was a kid, my mother used to tell me I didn't understand the value of a dollar.  That hurt!  What's worse is that she was not a cruel person. 

But now in retrospect, I know something that she did not know.  And that was that my dad, her committed life-partner, was busy teaching me the value of that dollar through hard work and providing a service or product to somebody willing to pay me money for it.  Working separately AND together, they both did a great job with me AND my siblings!

way back when at work, we had a policy of taking any failed/old/whatever drives that might still have any possiblity of sensitive corporate data on them, to where we had a 10 ton hydraulic press - great fun..

...David Letterman used to do a  segment that focused on crushing various items in a 10 tonne hydraulic press.  Indeed, fun to watch.

oh nobody knows the answer

the only facts we are pointing out are detrimental effects on the environment from using vast amounts of electricity hashing calculations for the blockchain etc

about the product itself only a DAZ person can answer and apparently they are not prepared to because of our negative attitudes, at least that is what some moderators are telling us

The Discord server is a good place to learn about them.  It's a friendlier envrionment with people whose interest is in seeing NFTs succeed, so you'll get honest answers as to what they are, what you can do with them, etc.  That said, I would not take financial advice on NFTs from there, or I would take it with many grains of salt.  A lot of users are only there to get in on the product early, pump them up, so they can resell for a profit shortly after release and move on to the next NFT server.  Just as it's in their interest to educate on NFTs and answer your questions, it's also in their interest to get you interested in wanting one.  It's not everyone over there, and it may not even be a majority of members, but the sales aspect dominates every NFT and crypto server.

but why Discord and not here that's what I've been trying to figure out , am I missing some thing ? every thing else is sold directly out of the store so y not this stuff why need to join or go some place else?  is Dz trying to distance themselves from it ?

well I do believe one can buy Ethereum with a credit card or Paypal, you need a wallet set up for it, you don't just buy an NFT like you would a 3D asset or a pizza

A lot of people prefer using discord over the forums, its just another medium that's available and Daz staff are present there so I don't think they're trying to distance themselves from it at all. Its a pretty busy discord - up to 41068 members today.

No? Why does it matter where it is, people can read and post where they want?

edit to add : And obviously a lot of people prefer discord, otherwise they wouldn't have so many members - why would they not make use of any and all medium to promote Daz Studio - its good business sense :)

There are a lot of members, yes... But makes you wonder why DAZ felt it necessary to increase the numbers with bundling freebees with joining their Discord...

This forum has been here for years, and the only DAZ presence seems to be, when they make some announcement and close the door after that has been done - No real discussion or explanation why something has been done, and with the NFT's we just got promotional chanting instead of any real answers.

The information is out in the Internet, especially the promotional one, that's trying to get you 'invest' in them - It's up to you, what you choose to believe and live with it.
