Iray Grass Shader?

I have come to rely heavily on Age of Armour/ Dimension Theories Grass Shader (and their Rock Shader). It's totally solved the problem of that ugly tiling effect on large areas of open ground - but apparently it doesn't work in the new Iray set up...?

Is there a way to get this Grass Shader working in Iray,
or are we going to need to wait for a whole new Shader to be developed...?

We'll need a new shader. While DS can auto convert many surfaces to Iray, some of the more unique ones like Grass and Rock shaders won't convert since they have their own separate calculations. There's just too much for the converter to consider.
You can get respectable results using a displacement map, or you can use the modelled grass from the Infinite Gardens pack, which works wonders in unbiased engines.
Aww, okay, thanks. :)
From what I've seen, Iray is capable of very realistic grass...but most of what I've seen are tutorials on how to do it in Max...with a script and particle system. Basically, Iray understands the particle system and will create/render it on the fly...
I'd say, that eventually, yeah, it would be something easily done in DS, but not yet.
Any progress on this front yet?
