Daz Studio 4.8 Pro Beta ISSUE

When I load a Daz Studio 4.7 Pro duf scene file into DS 4.8 Beta
4.8 cannot find the .obj nor the textures, shaping of anything!!!!

but loading a default scene from props/scenes from vendors work fine...

WTH IS GOING ON!?

    I would check to see if your content drive mappings are added into 4.8. They probably aren't set up.

    whoops I meant
    how do I get Daz Studio 4.8 to recognize the correct file directories
    its saying "my library" twice when the error window pops up in the directory line
    I do not have 2 my libraries NEVER DID
    so why is it looking inside a second my library when there never was a mapped second my library ?

    Make sure you have the same folders selected in both by opening the Content Directory Manager - Edit>Preferences>Content Library>Content Directory Manager. If you have a path with two instances of "My Library" it does sound as if you have nested content directories, though, which you don't want as it can cause issues later.

    ok there was a fresh new second my library completely EMPTY with no purpose (deleted it - issue still continues)
    did DAZ Install Manager cause this to happen?

    C:/Users/Sevionus/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library is my main content folder in Daz 4.7
    but DAZIM installed Daz 4.8 beta crap in C:/Users/Sevionus/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library

    wth man Dx
    daz 4.8 can't find anything from daz 4.5-6-7 saved scene duf files still
    no texures
    no shapes
    no models nothin

    My DAZ 3D Library should be in the Public documents folder, not your own, if you left DIM at the defaults. That is (mainly) for DIM-installed content, while the My Library is for your own files and non-DIM content (mainly - some things, such as fourth generation morph sets, can't be split across content directories). Do you have a My DAZ 3D Library folder in the Public Documents folder, and does it hold files?

    I have a My DAZ 3D Libaray in the Public Library and I can see DAZ Install Manager files
    and I think it's connected to - in my desktop ext. to Libraries/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library

    Why is DAZ 3D installing to different places now?? Why the switch?
    My Daz Studio has been fine since 3.1 Advanced through 4.7 Pro

    I also always self install 3rd party content myself either via compressed/exe to My Library
    and it loads 100% fine in Daz Studio 4.5-6-7
    I don't see the need to have to move my GIGS of Studio Data to a new place on my hard drive probably screwing up my Daz Studio 4.7 setup...
    There should just be a simple fix that lets Daz Studio 4.8 reads duf files just like 4.7 does with no issues.
    This really shouldn't be a issue when updating a 3D program
    My buddy never has issues like these with his Poser setups....

    You don't need to move anything...you just need to tell Studio where everything is, in the Content Directory Manager.

    That's the problem! I have even before I made this thread Dx
    But Daz Studio 4.8 Pro keeps looking in places that NEVER EXISTED!

    The beta doesn't share settings, and if this is the first time you have installed it it will use the defaults - \DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library in your documents folder, My DAZ 3D Library in the Public Documents folder..

    Hi,

    Here is an image showing you how to map the directories your content is residing in on your drive. Simply add the folders in both DAZ Studio for mats and Poser formats and you should be all set. :)

    I added both Daz Studio 3 and 4 annnnd poser directories to "Other Import Formats"
    Ex.
    /Studio
    /Studio 3

    but this is after I added all known directories to both daz n poser sections.
    everything did load after all steps jeez lol
    oh well just glad I can render with Iray AT ALL with this old 2012 Samsung intel i5/hd 4000 6gb:ram low-end laptop.....
    because my reality/uz game is CRAP and my reality is much slower than my Iray...

    Off topic but, after I use the content manager to install daz 4.8 I can not find it anywhere on my computer. Would this just be an error due to it being beta? Thx. Or if anyone has a thread I should check out thank you in advance.
