Gender Curious

Perhaps it's just me, but it seems increasingly difficult to find more quality male based mods and accessories.  The greater whole of what is produced in and for daz seems to be female driven.  Don't misunderstand me for I have nothing against the female mod product line, it's just that nearly all that's created for the daz universe seems to be with that in mind. More clothing, shoes, varying styles, hair, accessories etc. lean heavily towards the female model development where the male seems to be more of an afterthought.

If I have the wrong perception, please except my appology.

It is not just you... but the reasons are why most people can name a female model but would have trouble naming a famous male model or why womenswear sections in stores are so much bigger than menswear in department stores.  To sum it up, the best designed men's clothing takes longer, requires complicated morphs, and sells poorly so it pretty much has to a labor of love that the artist will loose money on.  There are excellent discussions that have real detailed data; I will start you with this: https://www.deviantart.com/sickleyield/journal/Products-By-Gendered-Sales-662159959

On a practical level, if a creator creates a product for males and females, the female one outsells the male one by a large ratio.  People who are asking for male products then say I'm not buying something that I don't have a need for.  So... Daz could require that when a creator makes anything, it has to be for males and female.  Since skills aren't spread equally, a low quality male product follows every female product. Moreover, creators hate being forced to make products so they exit.  Daz could commission male clothes but that is expensive and customers probably wouldn't support the higher prices.  Customers could support male products better but there are legitimate reasons for not buying a product they don't want.  This is a classic economics product; how to decrease the scarcity of an unpopular product.
