What format are you using? I suspect OBJ, and you have the wrong prset selected in the options dialogue - Marvellous Designer, as I recal, wants 1 unit = 1m. Try using the modo preset.
Daz S. 1cm and I use OBJ
You also have to rotate it an mirror it.
