View Translate ONLY when using widget?

I want to set view translation so it only works if I'm clicking on the actual widget, rather than Daz Studio interpreting half my attempts to select bones as an attempt to move them.
Is this possible?
The forum posts I've found so far say to disable IK on the figure, but this seems to turn the view translation off almost entirely, and I dont want that. I just want to kill all the accidental clicks where DS tries to move the figure (usually hanging for a few seconds and requiring an undo) when that's not actually what I intended.

Perhaps your mousde is over-sensitive and sees a minor tremble as a move? Just clicking shouldn't trigger a drag event.
My mouse is set how I'm happy with it, and I don't want to replace it.
Either way, I never intentionally use the functionality where I directly drag a limb (rather than selecting it and then using the widget), because it's a function I'm not used to in other programs and, whatever the reason may be for it being misinterpreted very regularly, I would still like to disable that specific part of the IK function.

Select them all in the Scene pane, then in Parameters turn off Selectable via the button.under the Display group.
You could just use the node selection tool instead of active pose or universal.
Unfortunately, both of these are actually more inconvenient than the current situation. I want to be able to select things in the viewport, and be able to drag them with the translation widget, but only with the widget. I was hoping that there was some setting, even if buried deep in a config file, that could make that possible. Making things unselectable, or entirely undraggable, is just a new and bigger hassle than occasionally having to wait and undo when DS misinterprets my input.
As people are proposing entirely different solutions to what I need, I'm going to assume this isn't currently an option, and I'm going to have to try to put in a feature request.
