hello all,

Is there a mirror pose preset that can be applied to any G8 pose out there?

Hi there! This product has an option for that plus some other really handy ones: https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-4-scene-tools-set-3--pose-symmetry

There's two other sets that are really handy too!

Menu option: Edit| Figure| Symmetry, then in the window that opens, Top drop down box: Propogation - Root Node. Second drop-down: Recursive. Next drop-down box: Swap Left and right: Fourth drop-down: Mirror about Y axis. That is a pretty universal mirror pose generator. I use for every mirrored pose in the freebie pose sets I create. If the pose is created with pose controls - properties on the figure or bone controlling mutliple child bones, such as the grasp control on the hands - then you need to use the Bake to Transforms command from the same menu before applying Symmetry.

Agreed, thanks for pointing it out. I tend to forget that because I avoid using such controls if I can. Always feel that things like 'grasp' don't look completely right, and I tend to pose each bit of each hand before feeling the pose is right. A hangover from learning on Poser 4, maybe.

I have all three of these and use them so much, totally worth every penny on saving time.

Here's what I have in my notes. But thanks for the product link. I can see how that could make life a lot easier!

To mirror a figure, complete with wardrobe and all parented props, press SHIFT+Y to open the Symmetry dialog box and enter the following values:

1. Nodes: Root

2. Propagation: Recursive

3. Direction: Swap Left and Right

4. Trunk Nodes: Mirror Y and Z Rotations

5. Hit Accept.

• The “Symmetrize” script (./scripts/symmetrize.dse) now supports “silent” remote execution

• The “Bake To Transforms” script (./scripts/bakeToTransforms.dse) now supports “silent” remote execution

so you could set up a script to execute the commands with the desired settings.

I purchased this symmetry product that you recommended but I cannot get it to work. 

Started a thread on this but not having much luck figuring out why I cannot get the Symmetry Scene Tools to work on the figure.
