speckled render

Hi I'm new to Daz Studio, but just couldn't resist trying this photorealism renderer. After a couple of days thrashing around in the dark I finally started getting some where, but, don't know whats happening here ( see image attatched) my first few attemps at renders had a litle speckling that vanished as the render progressed.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks.

Make sure 'firefly filter' is on (under Render Settings > Filtering)
You might also want to render a larger image and then shrink it down, if possible.
You said you're using DAZ Studio. Which version? If you're using 4.8 are you using the 3Delight engine or Iray?
I'm assuming that you are using the Iray renderer, since you said 'this photorealism renderer"...
Those are called fireflies and are an indication that the render isn't finished yet...when it is finished they should all be gone.
Thanks for the replies. I am using the Iray render engine.
The render had completed, acording to the status bar, which had closed. The image posted was rendered with the firefly setting on.
I rendered the scene again, with the pixel filter setting ( I think thats what its called)
The render is much better, however there was still a very mall amount of speckling which I fixed in photoshop.
Thanks again.
And thanks to all the contributors on the forum the guidance has been invaluable.
If you still aren't happy with it, also check render settings for time... the renderer has a time limit you can set at which point it will simply go 'done!'
I think default is 2 hours. I tend to just slide it to maximum -- at which point the 'max # of iterations' kicks in (which defaults to 5000). And you can just eyeball it and stop the render early if need be. (Cancel it from the app, don't close the render window or it will cancel AND delete the image)
