fitting a hat onto m/v 4

i put a G2 helmet onto m4 head, it doesnt fit right so i moved it in place, then used fit to head, the helme becomes rotated like 80 degrees once this happens-is there a way to do this so it will work?

i did unparent first of course or i brought it in not parented to anything, so how do I rig or parent or fit to a head dress to either v4 or m4

Parent it to the head (right-click menu or drag-and-drop in the Scene pane) without fitting.
