A small token of appreciation for everyone who handed over their hard earned money for Suite 2101.

Cool, thanks for the preset! I can look at redoing this promo that I've used your set in...

I hope more vendors do this, it will probably make some people who hadn't thought of buying a product take a second look. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so very much for this! I also think it would be wonderful if more vendors would create Iray presets for their products. Not only will it give their products which I already possess a far greater versatility of use but it will have me looking first at their products when I am looking to purchase something . If I know that I can use a prouct easily in both Iray and 3Delight, I would be more likely to buy that product over another where I would have to struggle through getting the lighting and texturing sorted out. Because quite honestly, Iray seems to be a steep learning curve for me and while I am enjoying the intellectual challenge, sometimes one likes to be able to just "go make art".

How exciting! I bought the set on intro but haven't gotten to use it yet; now it will look even better when DAZ lets us switch to Iray for promos. Thank you!!

    Greetings,
Thank you! I also bought the suite when it came out, because it blew me away! I used it in LuxRender a few times, and there are lights in it that seem designed to make PBR's look awesome (behind the bed especially!) and I'm stoked to be able to use it in Iray!

My recollection is that it has very lush and lovely texturing; how's the memory pressure when rendering those on GPU?

Nice, but on my 2011 iMac CPU only, it takes basically forever. Pity.

    ...kinda forgot about this thread.

Thank you all for filling my thank you thread with your thanks. :)
This version was pretty hack and slash just to get it out there and give people a starting point to play with, I should have a better version with more accurate reflectance values and more consistency with the lighting when 4.8 is out of beta.( I do have to move soon so there will most likely be a delay in any DAZ related plans)

I think it was actually fitting on my elderly GTX 460 with 768mb ram. Most surfaces use tiling textures and are reused on multiple surfaces so there is some efficiency to it, however I tend to "round up" when unsure about what resolution to go with. I'd rather people had the option to reduce textures sizes if needed than to give something too low. Since this was my first product and I still have a lot to learn about this market, I have difficulties in guessing at people's needs. It's nice to have creative freedom like this but it's also nice to have worksheets or specs to know where to draw the line on certain things. My "measuring stick" on this one was to allow for close up shots (say upper torso of a figure sitting at the table or lying on the bed) without pixelation of the scene elements. Taking tiling into account, I probably overshot that and the entire texture folder can probably be batch processed in photoshop or gimp to cut the resolutions in half without any noticeable difference in the wider shots that most people seem to use sets like this for. I've also been hurting for money for the last couple of years so it's a bit difficult to buy much content to see what the status quo is.

...also need to confess that prior to making this set I'd never actually rendered anything in 3Delight other than accidently hitting render before switching things to Luxrender so there's a lot of lolbad cringeworthy mistakes that should be corrected when it does get a real update.:red:
