Hi all i'm back again.

As it say above, can you transfer morphs from Genesis to Genesis four arms?

I am try to use a Genesis figure with the Genesis four arms.

In shaping I can change the Genesis with the sliders and the Genesis four arms will change with it.

But not the hands?

In shaping I can change the hands on the Genesis figure by moving the slider to have three or four fingers.

but when I try this with the Genesis four arms figure there are no sliders.

I hope that makes sence.

As always thats for any help

Since the additional arms are an addon to Genesis rather than a core part of the figure, they only have whatever morphs the creator decided to make for them.

  • And, hopefully the extra arms have rigging, so it may be necessary to do it the hard way - old fashioned digit posing.

  • Hi

its not posing that is the problem.

I want to change the hands on the two extra arms from five fingers to three or four like I can on the Genesis

As mentioned, the two extra arms are a different figure, not a part of Genesis, and they need their own set of morphs. If the creator didn't provide morphs to change the number of fingers then you can't do it, unless you create your own custom morphs.

  • so could the morphs for Genesis not be changed in a text editor to point to the four arms figure?

if not do you know of a tutorial on making morphs

No, they couldn't. The mesh is not the same.

  • thanks I think I am getting this

Will do next time when I work out how ;)

If mesh is the wire frame of the figure, then they look the same to me, and as it is only the hands morph I want.

If you look at the inage the green hand is "Genesis" and the grey hand is "Genesis Four Arms"

they look the same to me, let me know what you think

It's not just about the mesh of the hands 'looking' same, they would also need to have same number of vertices in the same order and since the four hands is just what it is, compared to the whole figure that includes the hands, 'transferring' the morphs over, would need a lot of manual editing of the morph files after one would figure out, which vertices on one corresponds to which on the other.

Detach the geograft and delete the main figure. Send the geograft over the bridge to Hexagon and move the mesh around as you please on the hands only. Do NOT change the position of the entire mesh. Do NOT move around ANY of the mesh near to the figure.

When you like what you've done, send it back over the bridge to D/S and make the morph. You will find that the bones do not line up with the fingers. Because this is already a geograft figure, I rather doubt adjusting the rigging to shape is a good idea. I am aware that the entire project was challenging in the first place. Doesn't work with this one.

I have that figure however I don't recall if I have anything that makes Genesis to have less digits.  As I recall for poses, you can select the geograft [when it's on Genesis] and apply the hand poses to it.

  • mmmm intersting info

thanks I have a lot to think about and try out

    could be fun

  • Someone in the past pointed out that you may be able to get the effect you want just by using another G8 to provide the extra arms, putting them them on top of each other, and hiding the other surfaces. Then you could just use G8 morphs.

  • another thing to look at and try thanks

The other advantage of that solution is that you can use any texture you want on the figure and extra arms. With the geograft you’re limited to the textures made for it.

actually it will use G1 base male, I know I gave my JaguarElla 4 arms with it and used RAWart's Jaguar textures, I had to manualy add them
