Bought character Storm for G8 said it had gens does not

So there is this character called Storm for G8 and it said in the description it had gens but it does not and there are no sliders or anything relating to gens so are they hidden or what? And how do I get my money back I don't need to waste $18.99 on a character I am not going to ever use. Also, there was no body paint or hair and I was led to believe that all that was included also.

Anatomical Elements (gens) are available only in some bundles, not with lone figures.

You didn't include a link to the product page, so we can't check what it says, but if it does say something about the anatomical elements, it means textures not the actual Anatomical Elements.

Characters which include materials for anatomical elements sometimes don't have separate material presets for them but the main skin preset is a hierarchical preset which applies the texture to anatomical elements too.

Theses two pro bundles are currently on sale for $23 for daz+ members.

They both have the "Anatomical Elements".

Won't need both, but this is as cheap as they come for a pro bundle.

  • Here is the character page: https://www.daz3d.com/storm-for-genesis-8-male

    It says Anatomical Elements.

    And there is no wig.

Why would I want either of these? Crap.

It says Anatomical Elements under the heading of Material Options.

Storm only lists anatomical elements under the category of Material Options. There is no mention of any "wig" included. You need to learn how to read and understand the product page to know what you are getting. Clothing, hair, and props shown in promo images are almost never included in character products. You can submit a help request and ask for a refund for Storm.

It say it includes materials for anatomical elements.  The mesh for anatomical elements itself is available only as part of the pro bundles for (adult) core characters, you need to purchase at least one of them to own the anatomical elements.

The hair piece you see in the promo pics is not included in the product. Most characters don't include hair, only morphs and textures. When it's included it's explicitly listed (and the product is usually called "Name and hair")

If cost is a concern and all you want are the anatomical elements to use on any of your G8M/G8.1M; Either of the two would be the current cheapest of the pro bundles to get them.Of course there are other Pro bundles to choose from, but they cost more right now.

  • Thanks all. My bad. I did not read nor understand the description. I'll ask before I buy to be sure I understand.

It's all part of the learning process, and a common mistake made by new users. Don't feel bad about misunderstanding.

I know it is beside the point for the OP but many of us buy the third party gens from elsewhere. No need to buy a bundle and they come with their own textures (which are simple to blend with any character texture). Probably more versatile too.

Except the Daz gens are stil the best...with the right addons.

Unless you want giant unrealistic gens...maybe he does...dunno.

And for those who wind up with a male character that doesn’t have the gen materials you can get the Torso to Gens UV from here:

Genesis 8 Male Genitalia Torso UV (renderosity.com)

If you want to then use that and blend another characters Gens so it looks better you can use this:

G8M Anatomical Genital Opacity Transition Maps For Geo Shell (renderhub.com)

What are the right options? I must assume you do not mean the one-shape-and-that's-it I'm seeing.

Some characters come with morphs for the Daz gens. I know at least one of MaleM3dia's products does, and Jepe's Roderick as well; I'm not aware of anything else, but I'm sure someone knows about them.

Even with those morphs, I still find Meipe's alternative much more flexible and easier to use.

I know Maxx and George both come with new morphs, you really have to have the George morph to use it correctly with that character or any very fat character because of the loin distortion.

The naughty sight and render hub have extra detailing morphs for ... details. Some of the kind of details you could only get before in the 3rd party versions.

Sure, I have seen the promo pictures at the naughty site for some of the variations on the DAZ AEs and some look more realistic than the Meipe options but they still require DAZ AEs and I really, really object to being required to buy a Pro bundle that I have no use for just to get the basic set from DAZ.

Meipi's are the ones they use for giant always aroused, totaly comic book stuff. But yeah I get what you mean about the pro bundles but you just have to ever get it one of those to have it. Surely there's a pro bundle with enough stuff to justify getting it.

Last month I bought the Dain And Victoria pro bundles just for the AE's and I don't really get why the male AE comes with morphs and 'bones' you can adjust and the female AE has nothing. With the female AE you can change the position a bit, but it has no morphs and you can't adjust the shape. I was not expecting that the female AE would have the morphs that the 3rd party ones has, but it would have been nice to at least adjust the labia majora a bit. Now I still have to buy a 3rd party one to have that option.

That may be what they're typically used for, but they're a lot more than just that. It really is an incredibly robust package (no pun intended).

The newer, themed bundles for Name 8.1 characters also typically include the anatomical elements.
