BTW floor and ceiling tiles and tiles/bricks along the baseboard help get quite accurate measurements of distance. Simply count and multiply!
Why risking being renditioned as terrorist when Google (street view and images) are there? e.g., instead asking permission (and being denied and reported to the police) for photographing a mall go to the mall website and save the images .
For the rest, do some creative frankesteining of sources since it is amusing how these places look all the same. E.g., FirstBastion mall look totally like a mall (especially the bottom images of the page I linked) not far from where I live.
I got an iPod instead of a camera as I think it has a good enough camera for my needs and it plays music too.
Better to use one's own work, IMHO.
You missed what I was saying. Nowadays there is so much homogeneization in culters that you can find certain things repeated ad nauseam over and over and therefore nobody can really say "it's MY mall" especially since you are going to do some serious kitbashing.
