Poses without co-ordinates or moving two characters as one

G'day there,
I have made poses that involve two characters, in this case, shaking hands (i.e. LHS character hand shake position & RHS character hand shake position).
I have used these poses on new characters, they are in position 'shaking hands' but when I created the poses it also included the original co-ordinates of the poses so I either wants to create new versions of these poses without these fixed co-ordinates or want to keep the characters in position to each other and move them together to new position within the scene.
Any suggestions?
Ian

Set the plae of the figures using the root node, set their relative offset using the hips, and when you save the pose don't select the root node in the options dialogue (assuming this is DS).

Thanks for you reply, Richard.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a newbie with DAZ3D. Can you direct me to more information on 'the root node' and how it would be utilized. I'm learning as I go so any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Ian
The root is the one with the figure name - by default the selection tools select the root the first time you click, then a bone the second. So use "Genesis 2 Female", say, for placement within the scene and hip to position two figures for something like hand shaking. Then when you save the pose preset, uncheck Genesis 2 Female in the options dialogue, then expand it by clicking the triangle and click Hip to select all of the bones and their properties.

Great! Thanks for that, Richard.
Now, taking this a step further, is there a way to record, within these Poses, the correct character co-ordinates relative to one another? I know they may not match up completely because of many possible variations in different character sizes but it would be a lot easier to fine-tune their hands etc. if their bodies were pre-positioned in those recorded poses.
I can see that it should be possible as with the "Couples" preset poses of Pose Sets like "NoiDuePoses" for example, not quite like a hand shake but the idea is the same, the two characters are locked in a set co-ordinates in relation to each other.

Reposition the figures relative to each other using the hip (making sure they have the same settings on the root) and include the Hip translations in the pose.
Richard, another simple option would be to load the figures into the scene and pose them as required, then parent one to the other, remembering to check "parent in place". That should allow both figures and anything else parented to them to be moved as a unit. They can be unparented afterwards if necessary. Or am I misunderstanding the question?
Okay, thanks to Richard & SixD's.
I've actually used info from both of you.
I parented one figure to the other before creating the two separate poses and that was after only enabling Hips in the Pose Preset Save Options.
So now, when I set up the two figures in my new scene and select my 'shaking hands' poses, they are placed in the correct co-ordinates to each other BUT they move to the original co-ordinates in which I created these poses.
My brain is fried now (lol!) so I've attached my two Poses here so you can see the results.
I'll come back & keep fine-tuning later!
Cheers, Ian
PS Mmm, it seems I'm not allowed to upload this filetype so that is that.
If you are willing to parent the figures you can also use a Hierarchical Pose preset to save both poses in one file.
I also do couples poses and found the easyest way to move them is to parent then together them create a null on the floor between the two then parent your couple to the null.
By moving just the null your figures will remain together in their pose. This prevents unexpected movements when you have figures rotated in duifferent directions.
