up to now i never had to disable a page style anywhere.. WHERE can you do that on chrome?
I don't see any changes in chrome or edge
The new dark design landed for me a few days ago. Absolutely hate it.
Nothing wrong with improving UX (I do this for a living) but I'm struggling to see evidence of sensible UX decisions. It really feels like a step backwards.
I like the new look and feel. the layout may take some getting used to, but it is much easier on the eyes than your old format
I haven't been hit with the new format yet but I do have an issue - I've been web surfig for over 20 years and I have never found a web page with a dark background that I would want to read, regardless of text color. Pale colors are OK - the light grey here in the forum, the pale green of DA are not a problem. Dark brown, dark blue, black - I won't even look at.
I like the tags.
They are a much better way to find products than the search or store page.
I do not like dark colors on the product page.
I'm too old to have my retina burned out by bright colors on black while I'm trying to read something.
Been living with this since yesterday -
I like the dark theme - the light one hurts my eyes but I gave up using a plug in to change it as I work across several computers.
I don't like the format, before you had most of the information at the top to view at a glance, now you have to scroll around trying to find out the Vendor! Some Vendors I wouldn't look any further on the asset. The What's Included expansion is constant scrolling on long lists, unlike the more compact view in the old version. The Add to Cart/In Cart/Purchased button should be a different colour for each state so we can see what it is at a glance, not have to stop and read the text. The compatable software list is still a mess - we should have to stop and read the list to find out is it works in the software we want - should be just a glance, all these Bridges are just clutter. And of course it has broken the Daz Deals plug-in again, which is probably THE biggest draw to buying things. The Accessesiblity is awful with all the scrolling and expanding tabs - things must have slide backwards since I did courses in Web Design years ago.
Important info should be visable in one glance at the top of the first screen. Everything should be compact and not waste screen realestate by hiding long lists behind expansions - that should be compact as well. Cut down the huge picture sizes - I don't want to look at them until I have seen the important info.
The Tag list could be useful, the What Used in Render link is good, as long as it is put in to every asset.
Basically nice try, can do better
+1
Some really good feedback here, agree with every point.
Thanks for posting.
Big thumbs down for the enw design for product pages. Impossible to see the images and the selection images at the same time. Too much wasted space for the static prices panel, which serves no useful function and does not disappear.
I feel that Daz is trying to put us off with all the changes.

My 2c
The new store layout hugely diminishes the customer experience. The page always loads at the bottom so you have to scroll to the top because the pop to top button is gone. You can only navigate from page to page at the bottom instead of both top and bottom. Terrible design!
As a workaround, hit the Home key on your keyboard (assuming you have one - laptops may require a modifier key to access it).
One positive point: I REALLY like the new "what's included in this render" section. A great idea which should eliminate the "what character/clthing/hair" threads in the forum.
That's not new and it hasn't in a long time. I think it depends on the PA to include it or not. Also, any asset that is not from DAZ won't be listed.
As for the new product page, i think this is an example of "just because is prettier, doesn't mean is better". I think the new product page is more pleasant, but is very inefficient and inconvenient. I prefer the old format for reasons a lot of people have already mentioned.
I'm not trying to offend the developers that I know must've work hard to make improvements to the site. But when breaking the mould and trying to create something new, you need to ask the question, what's the end goal? Make the page more effective and efficient or prettier? I think is important to strike the right balance and the new product page in my opinion missed the mark.
Cheers
Oh I'd never noticed it before so though it must be part of the new store. All I ever saw at the bottom of product pages was "more by" and "you may also like".
1. Please move the following items to near the top of the page so we dont have to scroll to see them (all are currently in the "product information" section on the new page)
- Required products - this is VERY important to know quickly
- Compatible figures - this is also very important to know quickly
- Compatible software
- Artists
- SKU
2. the Required products isnt telling me if i own a product.
3. Please show the discount percentage near the price
the light theme hurts my eyes too. I like the dark theme.
...still get the feeling I'm being hijacked to a certain other store every time I click on a product thumbnail.
The price banner above obscures the upper part of the larger images when scrolling down to use the thumbnails below even in full screen mode . Never was much a fan of horizontal "carousels" or slideshows, and still prefer the older "click to enlarge" mode to see the details better. I find haveing three images shown at the same time rather distracting and they are not as large as the old ones were.
Daz Deals stats are gone again (poor Ati is being made to work overtime again). Another matter, no links to forum discussions on the product or gallery images. I particularly liked seeing how other people used a product and at times that would influence my decision to put it in the cart.
In all, while I like a more subdued background than a glaring white one, this is too much. Such a style works OK on a phone (my phone is set to dark mode) but on a larger desktop screen I find it tiring to look at for a length of time because of the sharper contrast.
can someone show screenshots of this "new website layout" as I am pretty sure I am still on the older one, no dark mode or any of the stuff described
what I see and DAZ-deals works
not that I am complaining
These addon features still work with the old layout. I don't have the new site yet, so there's nothing I can do at this point. It looks to me like this is a round for initial feedback anyway, so the new layout might still change.
That is the new layout for the list pages, but the main topic is the new layout for individual product pages. This post on the previous page has some images https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/7261091/#Comment_7261091
well how do we get the dark mode then? I see no options
What dark mode? The product pages are dark - and I guess the abrupt chnage from the store listing page may be part of the discomfort for those who don't like the change.
It sure looks like the new item pages are designed for smartphone screens. Unfortunately the last time I checked, I couldn't render anything with my phone. Maybe studio v.5 will change this? (/sarcasm)
It takes effort to scroll and find important info on the new pages, because UI and poduct info elemement placement and scaling are awful on bigger screens. Black backround is one of the few better changes.
Attached screenshots: smartphone/tablet size, normal 100% scaled 16:9 1440p screen, 50% scaled 1440p with important info circled in red (which should be visible with minimal scrolling and clicking, unless daz is starting to sell only jpg's)
not for me, are white as before
Because you are not seeing the new layout. It is still being tested, so they are not rolling out generally but have users split into two groups for comparative purposes.
...wondered about that. Indeed, looks like it's more well suited for a mobile device than a desktop. Microsoft made an OS to "fit all devices" and it didn't go over very well, hence those ugly "live tiles" that were designed more with touch screens instead of a mouse or keyboard in mind.
Don't know about anyone else, but I'd never make a purchase involving my bank on a phone.
... and i definitely won't spend any money to purchase anything i've only seen on my phone on a tiny screen before i have seen it again big on my laptop screen - no matter if i use my phone to pay or not. and i agree with @tugepsiit above. since we have to use our computers anyway to use DS, i really don't see why the shop should be optimized for phones. accessible, yes of course, we're in 2022 - but optimized, certainly not.
also, this new layout has everything pretty much the opposite as it should be. things that are important like details, description, what is required is way back down and needs to be opened instead of being immediately visible on page loading. stuff that isn't important takes a lot of room like title, tags (with a huge empty space to boot). some stuff is repeated just a few pixels further, like the PA's name as such and again as a tag etc. also why the pictures in two versions, first (way too) big then thumbs.. also way too much "you might also be interested" stuff but then again i don't need to scroll down there. and a huge space for company stuff at the bottom too, way too large/high.
what's hilarious is that not only daz deals addon has disappeared again, but that with all the remodeling of those product pages - and other pages too - the dev team has still not managed to implement some of ati's and overdrawn's brilliant ideas, that many of use absolutely appreciate, adore, need. so much for customer respect and comfort. i am so very NOT excited. happy mocha latte everyone. chill.
EDIT: ah i didn't commnt on the dark theme... well, in my chrome i have a dark theme, pretty similar to that here. on every site i visit often, if i can i pick a dark theme, i do. BUT EVERY RECENT SITE/SITE UPDATE SHOULD (many DO) INCLUDE BOTH A LIGHT AND A DARK THEME, so people can pick what they like most, or need most, or actually, can see best. it should be OPTIONAL. toggle-able. this should be self-evident in 2022. and please, what's with the updating of one page but not the rest? it's so non-homogenous it hurts, this site is a puzzle, no, a patchwork quilt. why can't you have a test version besides the main site, so people can test and report/give feedback? even with partial functions, just for show. before you bring it live. did i mention i was not excited?
