Meaning you added subD to an item that didn't already have it? If you go to File -> Save As -> Support Asset -> Save Modified Asset should do it for you.
No need to ave a new asset, and generally you wouldn't want to. Just save as a Scene or Scene Subset, or as a Character Preset if it is used to load a new figure rather than to modify a pre-loaded figure.
