I am a new user to DAZ 3D. I downloaded the 3D Bridge for Photoshop and tried to install the Manager. I get an installed failed error. I have Photoshop CC 2014. Is that compatible with DAZ 4.7? I tried setting up to make the path to Photoshop and I still get a install failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank in advance.

Can you post a screenshot of your Settings > Applications tab in DAZ Install Manager?

Install Manager cannot find a required path. The package for "Photoshop 3D Bridge for DAZ Studio 4.7+ (Win 64-bit)" requires that the installed path for "Photoshop CC, CS6, CS5, CS4 (64-bit)" be defined. Make sure that a path for this application is present on the "Applications" page of the "Settings" dialog, then try again. This is the error message I get

Please post a screenshot of your Applications tab in DIM, there is obviously something wrong. You will find it by clicking on the 'Gear' icon at the top right of the interface. Load that tab, press PrintScreen, then obtain the image in Photoshop or similar, then use the Browse button above the Submit Post button to find the image on your PC.

Are you using both the 64 bit version of DAZ Studio AND Photoshop CC?

In the DIM a path had to be set for Photoshop. Listed below are the paths:

    DAZ Studio 4.5 + (64-bit) C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4
    Photoshop CC (64-bit) C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC 2014

All of this is done under the Applications Tab in the DIM

Thanks for all of your help and have a great day!

I'm having this same problem, but when I set my application tab to what is shown here, Photoshop still can't recognize the Bridge. It shows up in DAZ as a 3D camera and will innitialize, but Photoshop still can't see it. I've d/led manual installers for the bridge as well but they won't even start as they can't seem to find the install path to daz itself. I've also got PS CC if you need that info.

    Here is a screen shots:

From your screenshot, you have the two versions of DAZ Studio mixed up in the Applications tab in DIM.

The 32 bit version should be in Program Files (x86), and the 64 bit version in Program Files, you have it the other way around.

I don't know if that is the problem, but it is worth fixing to see if it helps.

Thank you, That got it, I was going crazy trying to figure this out since my ZBrush path worked perfectly without any troubles. I added a DAZ Path like you suggested and also another 64 bit path for Photoshop and Daz finally popped up within PS.

    Thanks Again

You do seem to have some other issues with the application list - you shouldn't have the plugins folder there at all, the installers will know to put the plug-ins there as along as the main application location is set correctly. You also have the path to the 32 bit version listed as a path to the 64 bit version (first and fourth lines) and bother the 32 and 64 bit versions of Photoshop listed as using the same folder (which is presumably the 64 bit version). Each path should be listed only once, for the correct version of the application - 32/64 and version number - or it's likely that the wrong version of a plug-in will overwrite the correct one, depending on the order in which they are installed, and the feature will then not work at all.

  • I seem to be having the same trouble...

You have the Photoshop path listed as "DAZ Studio".

  • 1. Go to DIM

    2. in upper right hand corner of DIM you will see a round circle to the right of Help Click on that

    3. Click on Applications and the plus (+) sign

    4. Click on the Name drop down menu and find the Photoshop App

5.Browse to the path where you have photoshop installed that should set your path

Hope that helps have a great day

If you don't have Photoshop then you don't need to install the bridge, it's only for Photoshop.

No, you don't need Photoshop - but if you have it theer is a plug-in to make sharing information easier, and that requires that the version adn location of Photoshop used be set. Since you don't have PS find the installer, delete it from the Ready to install tab if you downloaded it (right-click menu), then in the Ready to Download tab right-click on it and hide it.

  • I purchased an item from the store in DAZ for REAL U.S. $ item will not install because I dont have photoshop ... no mention of photoshop prior to purchase. ..  PROBLEM!

That is very strange,   what product was it that didn't have any mention.     Most will have something like this in the details are on the store page

    Details

As a continuation of the first Volume of Magic Effects Brushes, Magic Effects II contains 60 all new and unique brushes to brings energy and mysticism to your renders.

This Brush set is for Photoshop CS or Higher.

However all is not lost,  because Daz 3d has a money back system.  File a help ticket here https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new  citing Saled dept as the relevant account and ask for a refund.  If you want the money refunded to your bank account or to paypal make sure you let them know, as default is to refund as store credit.

Did you add the path to Photoshop as described above?

For those that have bought PhotoShop brushes but don't have Photoshop a few tips.  1; be sure your 2D image program can use PhotoShop brushes otherwise get a refund.  2; assuming you passed checkpoint one, find out where/how your program locates brushes.  3; download brushes from your Product Library manually to somewheres other than DIM's download folder.  3b; extract brushes manually to location discovered in step 2.
