Genesis 8 and 8.1 pose controls stopped working

Hi all,

all of the sudden, genesis 8 and 8.1 pose controls have stopped working. Pose files work fine, individual bones will move, but the basic pose controls like "arms up" have stopped working entirely. Genesis 3,2,etc are uneffected. Same behavior with a fresh genesis 8 figure or an old save file

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Genesis 8 and related resources, as well as a new install of both studio pro and the beta. no dice.

Any idea what the heck happened?

    Most of the Pose Controls are in the Body Morphs, not the Starter Essentials, so try reinstaling that.

    OK, so the first thing is to make sure DS isn't seeing a Connect install to confuse the issue. Find the Body Morphs in the Products tab of Smart Content - is there a circled triangle icon at top-right of the thumbnail?

    Right-click on the product and select Uninstall, then - if it's there is no circled triangle icon  DS thinks it has a Connect (through Daz Studio itself) installation, which blocks any other installation, and if the files from that aren't found nothing will be loaded.

    Still not working, even after uninstalling and reinstalling everything. So, is it basically making me use Daz Connect? ;.; i don't wanna. 

    but I will if I have to I guess

    No, it isn't making you use Daz Connect - that was just a possible way to trigger the symptoms (if there was a Connect install but the files were missing or not being found then it would block the DIM installation). I'm not sure what is happening, though.
