How do I get a prop into the hand of a posed figure?

I purchased "Z Modern Gadgets Props and Poses for Genesis 8". I want to get a phone in the hand of a G8 character. The phone does not load with the pose, it is loaded as a prop at ground zero. The product info says it has to be loaded as a smart prop. Why does it not load with the character pose like other products I have purchased?

Select the figure in the scene, then load the prop. Yes, it will come in at ground zero, but parented to the figure. Apply the appropriate Hierarchical Pose and it will automagically place the gadget in the proper place and pose.
