My tool bar does not have geometry or joint editor - customize confusion

My interface does not have the geometry editor or the joint editor in the top menu.  When I go to the menu for Window :  Workspace : Customize and then go to the toolbar list and highlight the geometry editor tool and accept it, it does not get added.  Right clicking on the geometry editor tool brings up a menu that when I choose toolbar starts making a new toolbar.

How do I get the geometry editor tool and the joint editor tool to appear on the top menu?

    some of those  preset layouts can limit what you can do.

    I start with self serve or city limits and customise the crap out of them

    I think you are editing the tool toolbar but don't have it enabled. I just reset the layout to City Limits Lite and the main Toolbar has the tool seelction shown at the top of the UI, the Tol tolbar is off. Either add the tool to main, or enable the tol toolbar in the Activities tab.
