Clothing does not fit actor

Greetings,

I'm using  Daz 4.16  Genesis 8 female with dForce Middle Eastern Clothing with a seated pose.

The bottom of the garment does not follow the pose.

I have tried the dForce option without sucess

Any suggestion on what I could do?

Thanks in advance

  • What happened when you tried dForce? Did you sart from the memorised pose or that sitting pose?

  • I started with the sitting pose.

Daz shows it is not responding....forever..

I would have thought the bottom would have conformed.

  • I also just tried to start from the standing pose and got the same results.

    Thanks

Long skirts like that usually don't follow the legs poses, they use morphs or custom bones for posing, or dForce simulation. This is intended, as having a long skirt rigged to follow the legs like pants do leads to unrealistic skirt poses and mesh distortion.

When using dForce you have to make sure the clothes don't intersect with the figure in starting pose. So for a sitting pose you'd have to use "start from the memorized pose" with the memorized pose one where the legs don't go through the dress.

  • One of the "In The Studio" sessions covers this problem very well. Basically it uses a short animation to make the character progesively sit during the dForce simulation. That way the clothing hits the chair just as it would if you sat down naturally. Link https://www.daz3d.com/in-the-studio-with-daz-3d and the one that you want is "dForce Tips & Tricks - In the Studio with Daz 3D ."

  • Thanks Matt_Brown,

I saw a similar video and thought it may be an answer.

I just didn't have the paticence to wait to see the simulation thru.

I'll give it another go and wait for it to finish.
