    Note the command line options Daz Studio Pro 4.12 - instances  - if you want to keep custom actions and other settings then you need to make sure you either copy another isntance that iss et up as you wish or at least ensure that you are not opting for a clean start/exit that resets any customisation.

    Oh, man Richard cna you expalin this to me in really plain five year old language?  So sorry.  How do I opt to not get the "clean" start so I cna maintain those scripts and other settings like Render Settings?  Everytime I close out and open a new instant it's wiping everything.

    Cleaning any customizations of an instance (non-root), on launch, is the default behavior - that is, if it has a specific name or auto-generated ID then it will not preserve customisations unless you tell it otherwise. Copying the configuration of the root instance (of a given channel) is the default behavior - so the named instances will copy the default version, without a specific name. To have an instance (non-root) behave autonomously, these default behaviors must be disabled. -instanceName name -cleanOnLaunch f -cleanOnExit f -copyAppSettings ; -copySessionUI ;

    How do I access these commands to alter them not to clean stuff out?

    plaul2002,

    Just start DS from its install directory (typically C:\Daz 3D\Applications\64-bit\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4) by double clicking on DAZStudio.exe.  After DS starts, setup your defaults, content directories, custom scripts, etc, then close DS.  The next time you start DS or an instance, your defaults should be OK.
