Render Background is check pattern - solved

Recently, my daz studio 4.7 has started rendering images in a very weird way. The entire area is a checkerboard, except for the characters, etc. in the scene. I must have goofed up a setting or two. I have DS 4.7 running on windows 7.
Does anyone know what to do to fix this?

    This began in the new 4.7.0.12 version. It now has "truly transparent backgrounds" If your render has no background or color, there will be checkerboard pattern. Check "environment" set. as well.
