How do you control where the manipulator is?

I've been using Daz Studio for a while, and I've noticed that the manipulator is not always where the hot point or pivot is. That makes it awkward to manipulate objects. I also know about the "tool settings" tab, but that doesn't tell me how to control where my manipulator is. In Carrara, there is a feature: "Hot point to Object" that does the trick, but I don't see it in Daz Studio. Thanks.

That's the figure node, you or the pose applied have moved the figure by the hip. Although it does appear that the figure has also been moved. If you want you can zero the translations on the hip and add them to the translations on the root. It's generally best to move things around the scene by the figure, but to make relative adjustments (such as making two figures the correct distance from each other) via the hip - that way you can adjust one without changing the other.
