CHIA Hair... A really bad wig prop.

I'm not kidding... this is really bad...
I made this a while ago as a joke, but nobody thought it was funny...
And it's really not.
I decided to release it today on April Fools Day because its so terribly unfunny, it might be considered a bad joke.
Anyway if you want this pointless waste of 10MB of hard drive space, it and it the two mat files it contains ( a green grass version in .duf and .Mc6 formats), they can be found here:

http://www.ShareCG.com/v/80255/view/11/Poser/CHIA-Hair

I also figured maybe it could be used somehow for the April Freebie Challenge, "April Foolishness and Other General Silliness"...
This and the Googly Eye Props (not the Photo Defacement Kit) and maybe you've got something...
Probably not...
But maybe...

So... Just to sum this up... think of this less as human hair and more as grass growing out of a human skull... the strands/blades are individual bits of geometry... no transmapping or displacement tricks... thus the 10MB.

Also... CHIA- Chattanooga Hair Implant Association...
No association with Joe Pedott's campy 70s terracotta pets & celebrity heads or the South American mint plant renowned for being rich in omega-3 fatty acids and loved by trendy ancient Aztecs everywhere...

The actual CHIA process was developed by the Chattanooga Hair Implant Association Hair Academy For Men founder Karl Kahlkopf in 1972 and uses the seeds of the Sri Lankan Ape Musk Grass being directly implanted into the skull using a specialized multi-head turret drill press to deliver the seeds.
Sri Lankan Ape Musk Grass (Juncaceae Apeus Putredinem) is not a true grass but a member of the rush family renowned for its apey musk oder and oily discharge.
Ancient Romans would often use Ape Musk Grass to ward off evil spirits or annoying in-laws.
Over the years several Agricultural Hair Simulation Methods have surfaced, some using mosses or bamboo but all have either failed or led to manslaughter charges and class action lawsuits.
Within Mainland China a popular new method has surfaced which involves silk grass blades being nailed to the recipients head using a specialized pneumatic roofing nail gun.
Due to high numbers of infection and deaths, the method has seen little acceptance outside of China and Venezuela.

Priceless! Good thing it's free. I can't afford priceless items, even on sale! With enough of these things, you could re-enact "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill" from Creepshow. That's the one where Stephen King picks up a fallen meteorite and starts growing alien vegetation everywhere. I mean, everywhere. OK, you didn't need that much information...

I can see potential style morphs soon to follow:

    The Putting Green
    Gone to Seed
    With Dandelions
    Dog Pee Pattern Baldness
    etc.

This hair makes me want to play all of my old disco albums non-stop.

I don't know if that's the highest praise I can give it, but it may well be the most earnest.

    ROTFL!
    Thank you very, very much!

  • Using it here, I didn't realize it had come out on April Fools. I have to thank you so much... found out this week that the big bad "C" word started growing again, and awesome prop made me smile right when I needed to!

(can't post the pic because it is against the contest rules but this is a link with the pic attached in the new user contest WIP thread)

I was going to use it for the freebie contest but the aging morph on the stone man, the bird butt, and the skelly were my three paid items... the pond had been free once upon a time in the Daz weekly freebies but is no longer and didn't want to chance it!

My manager at work was named "Nikia". He was, a tall bald man. We nick-named him "Ni-chia!"

    Hiya fionathegood!
I just wanted to thank you for the link to your image!
I really liked it and I left you a reply over at the thread where it's located....
    It's a rather long reply...
The forum software actually wouldn't post it because it was too long...
But somehow it exceeded the character limit...
There was a lot of mention of pudding and pudding related injuries...
And possibly some stuff about a lizard and Oikos the Greek god of yogurt...
I'm not sure if I tied it all together, but if you find it, I'd like to apologize in advance for any eyestrain it may have caused...
I tend to write a lot when I reply to a post... But it's been a while since I exceeded the 6000 character limit, so I'm really sorry.
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well... I'm not sure which big C you are referring to... I really hope it's that big Chipmunk that busted up my friend's garage, and not the other one...
The big Chipmunk is really scary (look, it was just an experiment and I had no idea that could happen to a chipmunk), but the other big C is even scarier... I can't imagine what you are going through (unless it's the chipmunk thing, then I hope your car was not in the garage), but I'm glad the CHIA hair made you smile... I hope some of that other post makes you smile too, I know you probably need it now.
I also hope my long winded rambling posts intertwined with bizarre stories, less than lucid references, and odd humor don't offend you...
I try not to offend anyone other than politicians and squirrels... I'm actually pretty sure they are both up to something together, but this is neither the time or the place for that... But when I finally get my website "The Squirrels and Politician are up to something together (dot com)" up and running, I'll send you a link if you feel they are too...
You don't want that link do you?
It's okay, my neighbor's cat said it was a stupid idea.
Cats really know a lot about the internet... I'm pretty sure they built it or something.
Anyway... I hope whatever is growing either goes away or shrinks to nothing... And I hope you health blossoms to its fullest.
Be well, and find things to chuckle about... It heals and keeps people wondering what you are up to!
    Best wishes...
-Vic Cook.... AKA McGyver, lordvicore or Misterwritesalot.

Yes, your reply gave me a good chuckle. I can't tell you how many of your freebies I have used. (Well, I suppose I could, if I went and counted, I haven't been rendering all that long, my list of completed projects is less than ten still, I think...but I won't!) And the list of ones I have downloaded is even longer. I don't know what I like more about you, your charismatic writing style, or your creations! In any case you have been a blessing to my world and I thank you for that! And I am sure the big "C" is shrinking out of fear that you might lecture it into submission if it does not yield of its own accord! :-)
