DAZ Studio (Not Responding)

I am having a problem with loading a saved scene. I go back to load after working on others, and I get the DAZ Studio (Not Responding). Is there any settings I can Change? This only started a few weeks ago, but is steadily getting worse.

  • but does it eventually load, or no? and have you let it sit for a while, and let it take time to load, or are you clicking the program, hoping it respondes?

i'm noticing the more stuff i do, the higher loading times. i can have a single object on scene, but if i've added a dforce simulation, and save, it'll then take more time to load.

  • Sometimes it does NOT load. It is the reading process, the close program window will come up. I was just wondering if there was a way I can get it to stop.

  • its hard to tell why software misbeves the way you are describing. it sounds as daz is acting up on a very low level state (means the not responding and general terminate window will show). could be lack of memory. could be just random read errors. errors can be very hard to figure out. a couple of things id try is closing everythig else and open only daz - a memory thing. restart the pc before opening that particular scene. save the problematic scene to a new file. move the scene objects to a new scene, via saving everything as presets, or some other way that you can move objects between scene files. i cant help you in anything daz related as i just started using daz a couple of weeks ago! good luck with that
  • Thanks. I wish it was that easy. I have 64 gbs of DDR4ramm. Even just changed over to SSD drive a couple of months ago. I set my 2070 gpu to go max yesterday, hoping it would do something . No avail... Sent a ticket in to tch help, as it seems it is a Daz problem. I have 2 different ones, and they both act this way.

"Not responding" just means that the program is busy and hasn't answered in time the calls made by the OS, it doesn't mean the program has crashed. Just give it time to see if it completes what it is doing.
If you try clicking something, you will get the OS box asking if you want to close the program, but that still doesn't mean that the program has crashed.

The log may give some clue to why it is taking so long, usually there are conflicting morphs and missing assets for the figures, which may even cause the base figure to take an hour to load.

  • This is true. I just never had this problem till a few weeks ago... And yes. All my characters are customs, nothing straight off Daz...

It doesn't need much, one character added to DS library that has problems, could increase the time xx minutes
